Also seconding the power metal thread, all you losers need somewhere to talk about Nightwish and Jag Panzer or whatever in peace. No clean singing, 666 and hails etc. I've been listening to this band Ghost Bath a lot over the last few days. They're from North Dakota but got away with pretending to be from China for years through a cunning strategy of never doing interviews or giving out pictures of themselves. They're "post" black metal, which if I remember correctly is red meat for thread hate but I'm sure some of you will like it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wnz7lcei1IA

I think she was either A) jelaous of my taste in excellent music/clothing. or B) looking to score some penis other than the slew of dudes she had been touring with for the last 5+ weeks. Either way, taunting someone for the choice in clothing is just so 7th grade.

Speaking of power metal, I've read some rather high praise for the upcoming Kamelot album, and from people who, like me, haven't been impressed with the band's latest offerings. Of course, I'm taking it with a large grain of salt, but I'm carefully optimistic. Would be really nice if the band managed to make another album on the level of Karma, or at least The Black Halo. It's not due until May, though.

I've been listening to the new Europe album daily for about two weeks now, and it just loving boggles the mind how good it is. Like, I thought the new Audrey Horne from last year was good hard rock, but jesus christ this album blows even that out of the water. This is seriously some incredible Deep Purple/early Rainbow worship. Literally every single track is some degree of excellent. I mean, just https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPQZjT8Oa5w gently caress

Yeah, good metalcore knows when to place its breakdowns too. It's not like the genre consists entirely of musical incompetents who can't write songs.
