Nia is the reason they go to space (well, deep space, they probably only would've stayed on Earth after the moon thing without her prompting), and Nia's ring is what powers the teleportation system. Having her fade out and just saying "well he got a little bit of time with her" seems like really moving the goalposts at the end so Simon can both

For me, it's not necessarily that Nia dies, it's that the show goes so far out of its way to have a sad ending for no reason other than to gently caress with the audience. I like Hace's earlier interpretation but the shift from giant robot to regular dude goes too fast and is never really dramatized so it doesn't gel with me. The show wants to end sad to send up the genre but it also wants to be an unironic example of that genre, and it clashes in the end.

The point of the show is that the human spirit is indomitable, even beyond death. It's not supposed to be a sad ending, it's unironically "she lives on in our hearts"

It's not supposed to be a sad ending, it's unironically "she lives on in our hearts" I get that I just think it totally doesn't work given all the buildup and the dramatic fight immediately prior. You could just have easily have communicated the message of "The dead are gone and we need to move on" by having them give Kittan and those other no-name losers a proper funeral and letting Gimmy have his little "why not bring everyone back?" freak out there. Just seems wrong to do it at the big triumphant wedding. Also I am totally a 13-year-old girl IRL and like shmaltzy happy endings so I guess it'll just never sit right with me. These are all cool but there's a dub outtake reel that someone should really find.

Some schedule changes effective next week: - Bob's Burgers is added to weeknights at 9 PM. - NTSF:SD:SUV:: joins DVR Theatre at 4:15 AM. - King of the Hill bumps One Piece at 8:30 on Saturdays - Cleveland Show replaces the King of the Hill hour at 9PM on Saturdays. - Post-Toonami schedule goes: CleveX2, DadX2, KotH

So they're dumping the One Piece encore for KotH, okay, maybe not great for people who miss the week before but its not a big loss. But they're dumping the KotH power hour for Cleveland?

The Cleveland Show is so bad that it regularly made jokes about it getting cancelled before it actually got cancelled. The show itself knew that it was a lovely doomed spinoff. I don't know why Adult Swim gives it so much time.

Hey! So it seems like there was a lot of positive reaction to the last KLK. It was a really emotional and impactful epiosde, good gags, too. I'm not like, a huge fan of BB, but they could replace The Cleveland Show with a live recording of paint drying and it'd be an improvement.
