More silhouettes I'm not sure blacking out characters is still effective when dealing with the non Royal family Inhumans. That is unless there's some better known characters that were not previously identified as such in the book.

Looks like whoever it is is flying in from the bottom left where they lap over with Naja's tail. Though I don't know why Inferno and Toro would be on the same team. But Lockjaw can teleport! He of any Marvel character would actually be justified in being in every book.

Maximus created his masterpiece: a creature with the upper body of Medusa and the lower body of Gorgon.

I saw this in a box of back issues and got it impulsively because I remember reading it a long time ago and liking it. I know the faces are weird, but I really like the cover. Major Victory kicks rear end, and that outfit is way better then the other one. This run made me really sad the Guardians were replaced with a bunch of dudes I don't care about, and I am super let down with how Guardians 3000 turned out.

Give me a new Fantastic Four with adult Franklin, Valeria, Abyss and Ex Nihilo. Or some kind of huge scale multiverse spanning Avengers with Franklin, Valeria, Abyss, Ex Nihilo, Starbrand, Nightmask, Manifold, Hyperion, Blue Marvel and Captain Universe. Hickman made them interesting additions and characters to the Avengers giving it an entirely new feel. I seriously don't want those characters to be lost after Hickman's done with his thing.

Fialkov had a hint of it when he wrote Ultimates, but then dropped the ball hardcore with Ultimate FF. Edit:^^^Yeah, I'd rather they get lost in the wind then succumb to that^^^

Has Morrison made nice with Marvel yet? He was pretty content to never work for them again at one point.

The best part of that cover is giving them the "The Uncanny" title.

At one point he said he was pretty much done with the big two once his dc projects are done. I think he said that during Batman, and there's still WW, maybe. He's not looking to work for Marvel, and I think marvel has enough that they just aren't working to get him.

But granted, I didn't keep reading after being completely baffled, so maybe if I stuck with it it'd have been more clear the first issue was intentionally supposed to be trippier then usual. I seem to remember it leveling out a bit towards the end(ie characters spoke in plain english and dialogue followed logical threads from one sentence to the next) but the stuff before that was so weird I felt like I couldn't make heads or tales of anything. Also, on the subject of Hickman and non hero work, it's really sad God Is Dead is so terrible. Dude's responsible for some of the greatest cape stuff I've ever read...and then there's that poo poo.

Mike Costa writes that. Hickman only did like the very first arc, which wasn't bad. Costa was the one that turned it into generic Avatar Press poo poo.

Spiderdrake posted:Good, good, yesssss. Costa being inflicted on other comic readers pleases me. The only other things I've read by him are Scarlet Spiders (from Spider-Verse) and the recent Avengers Millennium Infinite Comic. I loved both of those. I stopped reading his God is Dead just a few issues in because it basically turned into the same old bullshit from Avatar Press. Which I honestly expected because it's Avatar Press.

The first arc wasn't all that pleasent either, but that's still extremely good to hear. I like Black Summer a lot, but aside from that, Avatar Press is just as huge a waste of ink, paper, and time as Zenescope, if not more.

I haven't read any Zenescope stuff(Robyn Hood looked kind of cool, but I never tried it because apparently the current ongoing isn't the first) but isn't it "just" softcore porn shlock? That's at least less disgusting then the gore rape Avatar Press poo poo.

From what I remember hearing once, the cheesecake goes only as deep as the cover. The interiors weren't nearly as titillating as you'd think, and it's pretty much boring 'adult' fairy tale retreads. I may be wrong, and there are infact other books that are total sexless boob orgies and innuendo and fetish-y content that makes Clairmont feel shame. But considering that Meredith Finch's first gig, before her current Wonder Woman, was a broody and serious telling of the origin of the Cowardly Lion ('He's a furry who was a soldier who went AWOL!'
I think.
), I'm inclined to believe in their mediocrity.
