Southee had a bit of a mare - he still seems to drop it in short at times when the field is in no way set for it every now and then.

I know McCullum pushes for mistakes and wickets and plays a high-risk game to get them, but still.

ROCK HARD
I feel sorry for Morkel. I've never really rated him, especially after he roughed up Clarke in 2014 but then failed to take his wicket, but his bowling was excellent last night. It's a shame there was no real backup from the other pacemen for various reasons.

Fallen Rib
There were quite a few things that hampered South Africa but in the end NZ rose up to the task. For all the talk about the weather and missed run outs NZ gets credit for this win, and it was really a coin toss between two evenly matched teams when it came down to it. I was a bit heartbroken as a SA fan to have my team lose again in a semis, but I will be rooting for NZ to win the tournament. Mostly because I hate Aus and India. gently caress those guys.

Apparently Matt and Jeremy made some announcement today on Hauraki that they can't (or at least, wont) cover the final...?
Did anyone catch this and could clarify?

This was my first time listening to ACC and it's going to be hard to go back during non-NZ games. Even the 2 second delay didn't bother me. The best thing is that in between all joking around they were calling the game really well.

Unrelated but I thought Henry did really well. Remind me why Milne was in the squad ahead of him anyway?

Before last night's semifinal Henry had bowled fewer than 400 balls in ODIs.

As usual the ACC guys were on point with their physical description of Henry - He has a World War 1 face, eyes close together to protect from mustard gas. Also a firm buttocks.

I was in tears when he asked about the Steyn's opinion of the dew, just brilliant.

After listening for about 10mins I couldn't stop recommending the ACC to everyone within earshot, my office mate thought it was pretty grouse.

I reckon a decent Australian version of the ACC could be made out of the old D-generation crew, Tom/Rob/Santo with Ed Kavalee thrown in, Warwick Todd could even make an appearance.

gently caress those stats show how much of a joke Taylor is at the moment. Anderson has 50 more runs as well as 14 wickets to his name. Ross Taylor is really just dead weight at this point.

Taylor averages 51 in the last 12 months in ODIs. Stop this insane nonsense immediately.

Sorry but he averaged 26 in the ODIs against Sri Lanka with a strike rate of 68, and he's averaged less with a lower SR this world cup. His knock against South Africa was his best performance yet this WC.

The previous 15 games is a bit more than "a ropey series", especially since half those games are against associate teams. Also the fact that in half of the WC games Taylor has been directly involved in a run out. Dudes just bad at the moment, and he only has the final to redeem himself for me

Taylor's "12 month average" looks a bit rubbish when you factor in the calibre of the opposition, which has been Pakistan a lot of the time.

I was one of those looking seriously at Guptil and thinking why? Prior to the WC. I even joked about selecting Henry instead of him since he gave a good bowling option and was just as likely to get out for a duck in the first over. But I still have faith in Taylor as last summer he was the dependable rock we could build an innings around a bit like Williamson this summer. He just doesn't seem to have his head together at the moment but one good game can change that.
