Ewar Woowar posted:I don't think it's that they're not allowed, just that the current Australian commentators were a pack of sledging cheating picks themselves (Gilly aside). Whilst there is an element of that in it, it is more that they are contractually obliged to not talk down teh Aussies in any way shape or form. Like Shastri and Gavaskar with the BCCI, only it's teh entire Channel 9 team. And because Cricket Australia has nothing to do with it, (It's all Channel 9 and McNamara's fault), nobody can claim teh conflict of interest that they can with Sunny and Ravi.

I think it will be a lot more meaningful for NZ to win, I don't think the average Australian would even notice tbh

The Deadly Hume posted:Which might be one the reasons I won't be so down if the Kiwis get up, just to stick it up the sycophant brigade. Yep this is where I stand. I would still ideally want us to absolutely destroy New Zealand but after the behaviour of the "big three" in recent history it would be quite excellent for a small cricketing power to win the world cup. So I'd be OK with NZ winning. Now the test series at the end of the year. That I'd not be OK with NZ winning at all. That's different.

Backing Australia is like backing the other team in the Mighty Ducks. In short it means there's something badly wrong with you.

A lot of talk about the size of the MCG. Its not so much that IMO. Its a big ground but that means a lot of gaps. The thing is the kiwis having to play a single game in Australia with no warm up. Australia is a very difficult country to tour in the first place. Just wish the final was at the gabba to add to the difficulty.

Which sounds bullshit to me. Did they just get the pitch going the wrong way? BrigadierSensible posted:Will the ACC be commentating on the Aus vs NZ tests coming up?

Feels weird going into a WC final as a one-eyed Australian supporter and only being interested in it being a good game. Normally i want a bloodbath. I kinda want NZ to win this thing... Going to need to do some serious soul searching at the bottom of a block of VB cans to get my mojo back.
