Whilst there is an element of that in it, it is more that they are contractually obliged to not talk down teh Aussies in any way shape or form.

Like Shastri and Gavaskar with the BCCI, only it's teh entire Channel 9 team. And because Cricket Australia has nothing to do with it, (It's all Channel 9 and McNamara's fault), nobody can claim teh conflict of interest that they can with Sunny and Ravi.

This is like last year's NRL grand final all over again for me. I want the Bulldogs/Australians to win because they're my team and I've supported them all my life, but on the other hand the Rabbitohs/Kiwis are so much more likeable you can't help but be happy for them to win

Which might be one the reasons I won't be so down if the Kiwis get up, just to stick it up the sycophant brigade.

The supply of cuntery in New Zealand seems to get requisitioned by the All Blacks so if we were talking about rugby it'd be a different matter entirely.

Yep this is where I stand.

I would still ideally want us to absolutely destroy New Zealand but after the behaviour of the "big three" in recent history it would be quite excellent for a small cricketing power to win the world cup.

So I'd be OK with NZ winning.

Now the test series at the end of the year. That I'd not be OK with NZ winning at all. That's different.

This article appeared in the New Zealand Herald on March 1, 2007.

He's just 17 but Tauranga schoolboy Trent Boult can bowl as fast as a Black Cap.

The Otumoetai College student yesterday bowled 129km/h in wet conditions to be named the country's fastest secondary school bowler.

New Zealand Cricket head bowling coach Dayle Hadlee said Boult's bowling speed was similar to that of medium pacer Jacob Oram.

"In men's standards it's not high but for young boys who are say 16 or 17-years-old, it's quite impressive."

Hadlee said the wet conditions during the bowl-off were challenging.

"They were contending with slippery footholds and a wet ball. But for all that they gave it their all."

Boult, who is in the New Zealand Under-19 team, bowled 130km/h to nab a spot in the finals.

Corey Anderson of Christchurch Boys High was the fastest of six qualifiers with 138km/h. Boult's favourite cricketer is Shane Bond, whose bowling speed tops 150km/h.

Trent, who met Bond and other members of the Black Caps yesterday before they flew out to the World Cup in the Caribbean, has set his sights on bettering his idol's achievements.

"I want to be the best bowler in New Zealand - even the world as well," said Trent.

"You've got to aim high, don't you?"

Hadlee said the finalists quizzed the professionals on technique, with Bond asked for tips on how to bowl fast.

"He talked about rhythm, relaxation, co-ordination, things like that rather than trying to run too fast and trying to muscle it down there."

A lot of talk about the size of the MCG. Its not so much that IMO. Its a big ground but that means a lot of gaps. The thing is the kiwis having to play a single game in Australia with no warm up. Australia is a very difficult country to tour in the first place. Just wish the final was at the gabba to add to the difficulty.

Apparently the CakeTin has bigger boundaries down the ground being 72 meters, compared to the MCG's 64 meters. Which sounds bullshit to me.

Did they just get the pitch going the wrong way?

I'm mostly the same. Similarly to the Rugby League national teams, I find NZ have significantly less twats in their team so that it wouldn't bother me if we lost to them.

That said though, unlike Rugby League I will be cheering for Aus to win.
