Australia have some likeable players. Steve Smith is a bit of a poo poo stirrer but in the way most cricket fans like. More sanga than Warner. Haddin is such an old rogue its hard for me to dislike him and I think for fast bowlers Johnson, Starc and Haze are pretty chill.

I'm mostly the same. Similarly to the Rugby League national teams, I find NZ have significantly less twats in their team so that it wouldn't bother me if we lost to them.

That said though, unlike Rugby League I will be cheering for Aus to win.

Southee and Bmac used to be 2 of the biggest twats in the game too.

That's all fast bowlers..I can accept responsibility for Australia starting the puke inducing century celebrations with husseys antics though. I'm just glad Smith is a little more restrained but fast bowlers going mental that's not just Australia. Check out Steyn when he gets a wicket.

Reminder Smith was chewed out / dropped for being too nice to the opposing team and was no certainty to be playing in ODI's less than a year ago, despite just having scored a century.

Kinda reminds me of Doug Walters. Just a guy you cant help liking.

Hayden is very dumb. Scoring on a big ground requires some adjustment but it can be easier. The MCG pitch will likely be a loving road anyway. Hopping off the plane to play the biggest match in new Zealand history in a tricky country to tour well that might matter....the size of the MCG no loving way.

I think Clarke's a dickhead personally; he's easily one of the most talented players (and useful captains) that we've had over the last 20 years, but he also talks about himself in 3rd person and tends to make everything about himself. Watson is a dickhead. Warner is an extremely talented moron, and I don't think it's a coincidence you can't spell Warner without Warne.

Finch, Faulkner and Hazlewood I don't really know enough to make a judgement call on. MiJo to me is a dickhead on the field but off the field seems like a surprisingly normal person.

Maxwell I'm actually warming up to, especially since learning he absolutely hates his nickname. Haddin's a less charming Ian Healey, though his incessant appealing is really annoying.

Starc and Smith I like.

Maybe the shittyness of the Ch9 commentary team is rubbing off on me :v:

Mijo is a try hard because he has to be all mean because that's what Australian quicks should be. He's by nature a chill guy.

That said its weird for such a chill guy to have a stock ball that is a bouncer at the throat. I think it was Lionel who said he was an intimidating bowler that feels he needs to be an intimidating person but he just isn't that person.

Given all the players and CA staff that have had runins with Clarke, there just has to be something to the "Clarke is the biggest oval office in the last 20 years" stories as well.

The quote "if you meet an arsehole in the morning you've met an arsehole but if you meet an arsehole every morning you're the arsehole" comes to mind with Clarke.

That said he's a very good talent and on field captain and his off field issues haven't hurt the side.
