This might be a funny question but are there any good vintage clothing stores in Vegas?

The husband and I are leaving Sunday afternoon and coming home very early Thursday morning for our wedding anniversary. We are staying at the HRH Tower mainly because they had the best deal at last minute for the only days we would be able to go. So far we have Absinthe booked for Tuesday night at 8, Dinner at Olives Wednesday night before Going to see O. We are looking for somewhere for dinner before Absinthe and also a really nice restaurant for Monday night to "celebrate". Looking around the price range of Carnevino ($200-300 as a couple) for Monday night. Tuesday we will take suggestions for anything. Not really particular on the style of food, just want a really good meal.

Would the private tour be less valuable if it was just like 2-3 people going? As in is it "pretty fuckin cool" split 10 ways or is it still worth it with a couple?

Tuesday, I'd recommend Lotus of Siam.

It's way more fun with less people. You can spend as much or as little time as you want with the animals. Also, with smaller groups you can interact more with the animals. The otters and the monkeys are hands down the coolest things there. Lemurs are a distant third.

It's not like you can hang out with some crazy rear end animals just anywhere. If they can somehow integrate full auto weapons without harming the animals in any way the place would print money. Their website is misleading. They do say they have private tours but it's below the closing notice so anyone who has read a website since the Geocities days will think the place is completely closed. They need to get someone other than Cousin Eddie to be their Web Designer.

I was thinking about driving out to see the Grand Canyon, but I'm not sure I want to drive the four hours to the national park. Has anyone been to the Skywalk, or the Hualapai reservation area in general? http://www.grandcanyonwest.com/tickets-info/at-grand-canyon-west/view-points/ A rather significant number of Google and Tripadvisor reviews were complaining of an "overpriced tourist trap" vibe.

Yeah it's going to cost you an arm and a leg, going to void your rental car agreement, and isn't even the "real" grand canyon. The drive isn't great. Once you get past the hoover dam it's still a little scenic but eventually becomes pretty stale. That being said, it's absolutely worth it and we hosed up by not budgeting more time to be there.

quote:The primary access road into the Grand Canyon West complex is unpaved for about 15 miles, rough and very bumpy. Only properly equipped vehicles with sufficient ground clearance should be driven down this road. It is recommended not to take rental cars all the way to GCW as most rental car companies prohibit taking their vehicles on unpaved roads. I'd just drive the extra hour.

TheReverend posted:I'd just drive the extra hour. I drove there a few years ago with no idea about this and it was fine. Didn't tell the rental company, though, maybe they would've gotten pissed if they knew. It was also retardedly expensive (I think it was like 80 bucks or something) to get to see the actual canyon so we decided to just do it by helicopter next time we were in the area. It was a pretty neat drive, though.

So, my work group is headed to Vegas on Sunday for the NCB bar convention and I made a not very intelligent financial decision in deciding to be a very last second addition to the group. Had to grab a separate flight and will be stuck waiting for them at the airport in Vegas for about a good 6-7 hours. The hotel isn't in my name, so I can't make my way to it. Gonna have a backpack and a carry on to lug around. Anything cool to do around the airport while I'm waiting? I figure the worst case scenario is me sleeping on a bench in the airport. But I get there around 1:30pm, so I'm probably gonna have the roaming bug. Especially cause I haven't been to Vegas since I was about 14 years old. Also, because of the last second nature, I'm budgeting out about $500 for my 4 night stay. I know that might sound ridiculous, but my $200 NCB convention pass gets me plenty of free booze and the party upgrade gets me into some nice clubs for free. I'm with a group of 15 people, so as long as I have a drink in hand and some buddies, that's good enough to me....and maybe some $5 blackjack. I don't really give a poo poo about spending money on food while I'm up there, so other than maybe 1 restaurant, Subway sounds solid to me. 89 fucked around with this message at 12:34 on Mar 27, 2015 |

Why not just grab a taxi to the hotel you're staying at and leave your bags at the concierge, then go do whatever you want until your group arrives? I've left bags at the concierge of hotels I'm not even staying at, so I don't think they'd care that the hotel isn't in your name. Waiting 6-7 hours in an airport after you've already arrived doesn't seem logical to me, especially in Vegas.

Grab a taxi or take the bus to your hotel and leave your bag at the front desk then go gamble, drink, and/or wander around.

There is gently caress all to do at LAS unless you want to waste money on slots. You could be playing slots (or anything else) at a real casino and getting comps. I'm with everyone else, get a taxi and leave your luggage.

I'm staying at the Linq. If I'm wanting to get around more than 4-5 miles around me, is a taxi the best route to go?

89 posted:I'm staying at the Linq. If I'm wanting to get around more than 4-5 miles around me, is a taxi the best route to go? Depends, you can always take the Deuce on the strip if you willing to wait for it. Day passes are a hell of a lot cheaper than a taxi, and you can transfer to one of the other lines if they go where you want to go. Other than that, yeah you're probably stuck with a taxi. Uber is shut down in Vegas, at least for now.
