I've been reading it at a snail's pace (thanks college), but it's really good so far. Hubbard's life story is loving bonkers. He did so much wild poo poo, it's crazy he felt the need to lie about his achievements and make himself appear more adventurous than he already was.

Just chiming in to say that, yes, of course That Mitchell and Webb Look is amazing. I think what it did better than any other sketch comedy show was running bits. For most shows that tends to be a weakness. SNL mostly sucks at them (though that's partially due to a sort of desperation they have to get something to stick so they can make money off of it) and even something like Kid's in the Hall, with a few exceptions, was at it's weakest when it was doing a running bit. TMAWL just sort of nailed it though. I think I pretty much like all their running bits. Honestly I think Numberwang might be my favorite sketch comedy thing ever.

Speaking of sketch comedy, that reminds me that Trevor Moore of Whitest Kid's You Know had a stand up comedy special recently that was basically just an hour of WKUK songs. I went in not expecting much and thought it was actually pretty great.

It's a show I want to see more of -- I missed the first run, and it basically wasn't available anywhere for a few decades. Hulu's selection is still weirdly limited.

I assume it has its fair share of misses, but my sense of humor lines up with Wain/Stella pretty well.

The State was a mixed bag of a show but it's definitely the most anarchical of any of the sketch comedy shows. Most sketch comedies do seem to have a feeling of precise planning and hours of writing to get sketches just right. The State always felt like a bunch of young comedians with potential were given a small amount of money by MTV and they were just allowed to experiment and do whatever. It's a show where you're basically seeing young comedians learn how to write comedy.

Hellraiser 4 is pretty good too, and by "pretty good," I mean it's the least lovely of the Hellraiser movies that aren't 1 and 2.

it also got kinda made a fool of when Event Horizon turned out to be Hellraiser in Space, but way better
