One thing that always kinda bugged me about Dragon Ball was just how useless everyone was except for Goku. And it's been like this since day one - everyone thinks Goku is going to get curb stomped trying to fight the Red Ribbon Army all by himself, go to help him out and are surprised to find that he's already wiped them out entirely.

Vegeta, Gohan and Piccolo were pretty much the only people who weren't entirely poo poo-tier. And even then, Piccolo stopped being useful in a fight about halfway through the Cell saga. Which sucks, because Piccolo owns. They need to make him go Super Namekian 4 or something. Basically, by the end of DBZ, if you're not a Saiyan, you ain't worth poo poo.

Yeah, this is why Xenoverse owns so much. I like being able to make a non-Saiyan who can stand up for themselves. When I play as my slug dude I feel like I'm vindicating every Namekian who jobbed because the plot demanded it.

This was just talking about how Battle of the Gods doesn't make GT impossible by itself with the concept of the God powerup. Resurrection F, by adding new data, reviving Frezia, etc., does make it impossible.

By that point, Kami was God and Piccolo was the Devil, no questions asked. Everyone killed by the devil can't go to the afterlife.

This makes no sense after the series went sci-fi and Piccolo was now an alien, but by that time it did make sense.

It apparently has something to do with Asian mythology, where people killed by demons didn't go to the afterlife. There's actually a scene in the Saiyan saga where someone (Kami?) points out that Goku going to heaven after being Special Beam Cannon'd proves that Piccolo is going soft.

It makes perfect sense because Kami and Piccolo being aliens doesn't affect them being god or a demon at all. Pretty much as soon as Kami is introduced we learn God is a title that's passed on and he even asks Goku to be the next one. Piccolo Daimao is both a Namekian and a demon since he's pretty much made of evil while Piccolo Jr. stops being a demon some time between DB and DBZ as he became less evil, Kami comments on it after Goku and Raditz are able to go to the afterlife.

And Toriyama has said Kami's alien origin was one of the few things he planned ahead of time.
