The Democrats are fine, I mean my new job just finished a poll in FNQ and in comparison to people up there saying they should legalize hunting aboriginals after hearing about Billy Gordon. Parties like the Dems, Socialist Alliance or Australian Progressive Party are the least of our problems in the face of extreme racism, poverty, welfare depletion, high education lockouts for poorer classes and so much more.

I mean a left winger can be in any party he likes, so long as we all see a Tory as a problem then that's all that should be needed to agree on solving the problems the conservatives present us with.

SO many people up there love Warren Entsch. An old man who loves horse racing, fishing and supports data retention. Why does he support data retention?

quote:

He says the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Amendment (Data Retention) Bill 2014 is a vital measure to help Australia stop online criminals such as paedophiles, major crime groups and terrorists.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3HMV7T2Jdo

quote:

We are blessed with having incredible communications technology -- technology that lets us speak instantly with family across the world, download our favourite movies and music in mere minutes, and tweet or blog about our lives to a potential audience of billions.

But not everyone is using it for good. There are groups out there who use this same technology to commit crimes – to steal personal information, to distribute child pornography, and to plan terrorist attacks.

We need a ‘whole-of-country’ effort and, against these threats, we need metadata.

Metadata is the ‘who’, ‘when’ and ‘where’ – not the content – of communication. It’s information such as an email address or telephone number and the time the email was sent or the call was made. It doesn't include the content of the communication – not even the email subject line.

My theory is that they legitimately want those things but have bought into the dialogue that they have to be able to AFFORD THEM first. Therefore vote LNP. I dunno, when I was listening to it all I was just thinking how it would only be a matter of time before The Greens taps into that and flip the seat at some point into the future.
