I'm reading Incorruptible and while it's really good I really hate Horacio Domingues art. He's like a shittier Mark Bagley and I'm already not that big a fan of Bagley.

Really looking forward to getting to the part where Takara takes over.

It looks like it's a pattern fill. Look closely at the armpits. The pattern continues right over the lines for the armpit/bust. Real patterned fabric/lace wouldn't do that, it would bunch up at the joints. That being said, even though it's a time-saving technique, it's executed subtly and very well in this case.

Err... it doesn't look hand drawn to me either, it looks like a pattern fill yeah. It's flat. It looks great nevertheless.

I really like books where everything is painted in one go by one person, instead of pencils – inks – colors by three different people. Do you guys have any recommendations to that end? I love the art in Drifter, for example.

Recently, G.I. Zombie's art was by the great Scott Hampton alone (other than lettering and Darwyn Cooke covers :))

e: 'painted in one go', though. No idea what his process is, but it's probably not that. There's definitely digital colouring in there.
e: Looking at it, Drifter ain't that either. Closer than I thought!

The current Iron Fist series is drawn, inked, colored and written by Kaare Andrews. It takes the character in a different direction than the previous series, but it's solid.

Are you specifically asking for painted comics, or are comics of any art style with one artist acceptable?

Hard to say, really—I already hope that I'm not asking in the wrong thread (the Kersch pages just reminded me), and I'm not trying to be incredibly specific in how the actual process of the books has to be or anything.

That painted look, though. Man! That's the thing I crave! :)

I really loved how pretty Marguerite Sauvage's stuff was from the Thor Annual. I also dug the story that Noelle Stevenson wrote for it.

...wait, what are those foot things Sauvage gave the elf queen? Is that a real thing?

Her story for Sensation Comics was pretty good too. And notably managed to make it's point more efficiently than the most recent story that used a similar hook.

Murdering Howard Chaykin artwork with modern coloring has been a custom for more than a decade, but this one is somehow an achievement in that field.

Is the story anywhere close to the quality of covers? I mean I'd imagine not given Nick Spencer's spottiness as a writer. I do like the premise.
