I think it might just be lovely compression on the images themselves. She's pretty cute in her videos, though that doesn't mean the picture isn't altered, obviously.

Not sure if this one's been posted, but man, Yasmin is always spot on with her costumes and I like Beethy's photography more and more lately.

And a bonus Riven that isn't that god awful bunny suit:

The first I was amazed when it came up on my feed. That entire background is digitally edited in. Wonderful job.

The second one. The costume is good. The makeup and hair is wonderful. Zoom in and you can pick up the small things off about the costume. It's little stuff, that you'd have to get real close to notice.

Both are great.

Right? The Riven one's biggest flaw is that the original costume is just.. bad. It's all over the place and a total mess, even if it Looks Really Cool in game. But it isn't Battle Bunny so props to her.

AlienOrihara's White Queen is nice, but I can't see her as anything but Satsuki, so.. here's one of each before I stop all this shitposting.

How is this shitposting?

The first. The white's are a little blown out and she could use some help on her makeup. Also, I'm reading wig. If I'm wrong on that one, I'm sorry. Note to photogs doing this stuff. If you make one drappie bit blow in the breeze, you can't have the other be static. It's just off.

The second... Oh man.

The tiny asymmetry is what makes it pop. She's wonderful. Everything about the outfit, the pose and all is wonderful. The photog is just a tiny bit off center, she's just a tiny bit turned camera right and the shoulders are also just a tiny bit up right. It makes you look twice. Focus on what is in the frame and......

poo poo, do you people want me to shut the gently caress up?

I love this Zelda build, I really want to make that costume and hers is the one I'd be trying to beat. I'm a professional screen printer and pretty competitive armor maker so I think I could do a killer job with the outfit but I'm just not as cute as her, haha. Gotta finish the Lich King and Witch King first anyway so I guess we'll see!

Here's an excellent cosplay April Fools joke:

A shitload of cosplayers took Misty photos and declared their intent to be the one and only Misty at Cerulean City Comic Con yesterday. So glad I decided to go as Brock!

I know nothing about the cosplay scene, so maybe there is some reason for this, but why are characters from League of Legends so popular?

It's a free to play MOBA with no story and not that highly detailed models. Why does it inspire so many people to keep dressing up as these specific 5-10 characters out of the hundreds in the game and why that game in specifically?

League does actually have some story to it, but it's nothing to write home about (though remarkably there's still some folks attached to it despite that). The raw models might not be dripping with detail, but the characters all generally have "cool" designs and strong personalities and much like, say, the cast of fighting games, folks get attached to their favorites.

vvv That too. vvv

It's literally the most played video game in the world. And there are so many characters (123 currently) with so many alternate appearances (I think the total is 727 skins?) that there's something for just about everybody.

League is also such a popular game that good cosplays from it get shared a lot so there's a lot of built-in visibility that groups like mine just don't get for poo poo like Warhammer. Riot does a lot of cosplay promotion stuff both at cons and on social media so if your goal is to increase your fanbase League (and after that, Blizzard) is probably the best way to do it.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I've been seeing more 40k cosplay pop up on DA/Tumblr/Reddit/etc lately. I don't know a lot about the fandom (or uh, whatever the proper term there is) but it seems like it's finally starting to gain some attention. Doesn't hurt that the costumes are gorgeous, too.

The big part about League imo is that you can do grimdark spoopy costumes, cute costumes, sorta meme-y/in jokey poo poo, or anything in between and it just works.

Anyway, back on track: Queen Azshara's Mara Jade is super sweet and new pictures of it always make me happy.

Oh for sure, the armor is all big and detailed, it's not like Warhammer cosplayers are some underpriveleged class or anything (and I don't care anyway, I have 2 40k cosplays and 1 Fantasy one and someday my magnum opus will be a World Eaters terminator, gently caress yeah). League just gets around a LOT more than pretty much anything else, I think.

Someone's probably done a cosplay photo set where the Dutch angle gradually increases and the person being shot starts looking more and more worried and unstable until they fall over backwards, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see it.

Silent Hill 4 sorta spoiler? Her character pretty much exists entirely to get beaten up by the antagonist and then be an hours long escort mission.

Narga and Aoki Cosplay did a super badass Silent Hill 2 photoshoot that they edited really heavily to get rid of that, I love it so much. SH2 is still my absolute favorite game of all time.

They did a lot of setup too though, before and after edit shot shows it's mostly the lighting they messed with

With some costumes I really dislike that heavy of editing, kinda pisses me off if you can't see the costume itself well, but for Silent Hill I think it makes so much sense. The bathroom mirror photo is my absolute favorite.

Reminds me of when Universal Studios had the Silent Hill maze for Halloween Horror Nights. As a Scaracter you were not suppose to take pictures of yourself/others, but anytime the supervisor wasn't looking, the Pyramid Head and the Nurse Scaractors would do the  pose and take pictures of it. :haw:
