I mean do I have to spell out how much money they can make redoing the D-Day invasion in 2015?

I haven't ever cared about the time period. It's all about the shootyman. The only important things are if the maps are good and multiple play styles are viable. And no loving halftime in Dom.

The near future settings allowed them to sell goofy camos and voice packs. The question is will I be able to get Space Cat camos for my MP44 and hear the Snoop Dogg announcer pack as I'm storming the beach at Normandy

Treyarch does a good job with their DLC so I don't expect any problems with it like Sledgehammer keeps having. They even have the decency to integrate the DLC into all playlists right away instead of waiting for the next map pack to release.

My notable COD:AW moment for this week: I was dumped in a match against a clan and went 0.2kd. Stuck it out and an Insanity dropped! Then proceeded to fight back with the Insanity next map and got close to 1 k/d  So glad I didn't ragequit.

new zombies map isn't terrible but I haven't gotten too far to see any lasting changes. The new weapon is a vacuum-gun that works like the EM1. You hold down the trigger and a blue tornado shoots out of the gun (which resembles the HAMR from Ghosts) and causes zombies to swell up while they are stun-locked. You swell them up until they explode, which usually takes about 2 full seconds of application. Holding the trigger down, however, causes the gun to "short out" for brief periods. Usually when the swarm of zombies has gotten out of control and you have nowhere to run.

The new zombie map is easier than the last one because of the layout. The three outdoor areas (either side of the starting room, plus burgertown) can all easily be trained*. I played it for the first time last night with Jetpack and Toast and in one try we got to round 29, which is a round higher than our best in the first map. It's easiest if you split up into different outdoor areas limiting the total number of zombies in each place. Notes: -The new gun, Magnetron, sucks upon first impression. I rolled the box, saw no gun appear, walked over to the box, and saw the name. It's so lovely they didn't even bother to make a 3D model for it! It's a microwave gun that will stop zombies in their tracks for a second or two when you first hit them with it. If you hold the beam on them for way too long, they eventually expand and then explode. It's not worth it for the stun effect since you'd only use that in a pinch and it takes too long to switch to the gun and ready it to fire in that situation. You sure as hell don't want it out for killing zombies since it takes several seconds per zombie to kill. Unless this gun gets drastically better when upgraded, it's a complete dud. It's also a beam weapon like the EM1 in that it starts with 100% power (ammo) and winds down to zero in about the same time. It also overheats after killing 2 or 3 zombies. -All of the new traps are awesome. Airstrikes, crocodiles, ambulances, and more are fun to watch as well as effective and well worth their 500 point costs. Go wild on them! -Dogs are now integrated into normal rounds and do not have their own special round. This means that you can't rely on them for an easy Full Reload powerup. The infection rounds still do grant a Full Reload. -In addition to normal infection rounds (infected zombies), there are now entire zones that are gassed with the infection for a full round. It appears to always be one or two out of the three outdoor areas. This forces you to move around the map and kind of throws a wrench into my strategy above these notes. -Survivor rounds force you to locate some helpless idiot on the map, escort him to an extraction point marked with a flare, and defend him while he waits for a ladder to drop from a helicopter. If you are successful, then you get a free weapon upgrade at the end of that round. It gives for a 5 second countdown to switch to the weapon you want to upgrade before it automatically applies it to the one in your hand. Here's the really nice thing: If you are holding a mk20 fully upgraded weapon, the Survivor round bonus will upgrade that gun to mk25. -There is a mutant zombie that spawns every few rounds that is much larger than other zombies, carries a shield (door) and a melee weapon (street sign). He can even shoot rockets at you from a distance. Every single attack he does will EMP you. He's what ended our game on round 29 so make him a priority. Everything else is pretty much the same. The Easter Egg is easier this time around and has some gimmicky rewards that look fun. Partially completing the EE does open up the mk25 upgrade station, just like in the previous map, but it's no longer a requirement because of that survivor round trick above. *Running circles around the horde of zombies to clump them up into a manageable cluster and control the spawn rate.

Just played my first time on the new zombies map, got to round 18 and it was pretty fun. Calling in an orbital strike to wipe everything out and end the round was awesome. A word of caution: in the rounds where entire zones are infected, you cannot stay in the infected zone even if you've become infected. Every few seconds you spend in the infected zone, the timer on your infection will lose additional time and it will become that much more difficult to reach the cure station before the countdown hits zero. I unwittingly stumbled into the infection zone while trying to grab more ammo for a specific gun and got infected, and I figured what the hell, I'm already infected, might as well get the ammo. Big mistake on my part.

So has there been any progress on what exactly earns you a Supply Drop? I've put around 30 hours into the game and I've only gotten a RIP AK, and I don't even get an actual package unless I play at least three or four rounds. However, when I play splitscreen with my little brother he earns a Supply Drop nearly every round we play, sometimes twice a match, and almost always he gets an Elite item in every Drop. I'm "better" than him, I usually top leaderboards most of the time, but I do die a lot, while he stays near the bottom rung of the board every time. Do I just have poo poo luck when it comes to opening these things or is there some stupid lottery effect that Sledgehammer rigged up?

You'd probably still miss it if you bought this game, not a heck of a lot of people play it. I got a PS4 and have been playing Bloodborne with most of my free time. gently caress the Blood-Starved Beast. I don't have CoD for the PS4 but in the event I ever get something with multiplayer -- and a PS+ sub -- I'd be down.
