I like the BCR video where they show the cats mirrors https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHN7vJW8t5o Most of the animals are like "Holy crap! They got ANOTHER one of [my species]?!" while the lions are all "Yeah, I know how mirrors work human, I'm very very pretty after all..."

I've had a pretty terrible week. Got sick, cracked my phone screen, and got some really bad news about my dad's new job. He moved to another state for a new job and he's not going to be able to come home and visit as much as we thought. Requesting cute critters, animals loving people, or people loving people. Or any combination thereof. Thanks guys. This thread is my favorite. EDIT: Or really cool science stuff. neonnoodle posted:I saw this with the caption: WE CAN’T PROVE THEY WEREN’T HUGE FATBIRDS I've seen these before - they're pretty funny and cute! From a phyisological/anatomical perspective, T-rexes (and most other therapods) had a center of balance in their hip region (which was the result of having a tail for balance) whereas birds have a center of balance near their knee-bone (which is normally not visible, because it's in their fluff in front of their hip region). Their knee acts much like the hip of most other animals for the purpose of pivoting forward/back. Some dinosaurs, however, seem to have the same center of balance as birds: namely, oviraptors, for one. Visual example E: wording is fun TheMaestroso has a new favorite as of 18:46 on Apr 9, 2015 |
