Maggot therapy is pretty fascinating, if gross. It's remarkably effective and they'll eat every scrap of dead tissue first. Their digestive secretions are broad spectrum antibiotics, and once the wound is cleaned by them, it'll heal faster than by conventional, non-gross wound treatments.quote:During World War I, Dr. William S.
