Okay! My character is N'yowl@fredsloniker (note: not fredMsloniker). Can I get a channel invite? And do I have to be in-game to get it?

I logged in today to claim all the doff mission crits i'd be hoarding, and got 2 spec points from it. But 2.5x xp should have given me three spec points.

I couldn't help but wonder, where did my extra spec point go?I remember working hard to complete the delta recruit, along with many fine goons.

I realized the pubbies had taken it from me, and I resolved to find it. I think it is hiding in a nanite generator. I've been blowing them up looking for it, but I havent found it yet.

Please help join the search for the missing spec point. It could be anywhere. Sterie said we might want to dispatch probes through the gateway in KASA to search for it. I think that is a wise suggestion.

I play this game to feel better about myself because of the playerbase.

This. It's not a very good game and never has been. It's the only Star Trek game and it has pretty pictures of Star Trek stuff, so if you like star trek there is that.

But most of all it's got a remarkably large mentally ill / deviant / degenerate player base.

And almost no barrier to entry for loving with them and getting them wound up.

Just having your toon sidle up to one of theirs and leer is enough to make some of them lose their poo poo. Spraying them with a fire extinguisher works too. Or getting an idiot horn that makes a loud noise and shoots out balloons over and over. Or setting off a disco ball that you basically get unlimited of for free.

I'll try to play it later today or tomorrow, if that helps. Should I play as Butts or Adolf Hitler?

Adding ground-ships to the foundry means we can make maps filled with piles of space ships yeah?

Why, yes, I do like Kirby games.
I'm level 53, and it's getting increasingly difficult to survive combat in my bird-of-prey. I mean, I get that I'm flying a ship made of guns and rubber bands, but I used to be able to alpha-strike down a large ship and then get out of Dodge before its friends finished me off. In the last mission I played, I had multiple instances of having to essentially ram a six-pack of ships down a Borg cube's throat before it would deign to explode. It's really dragging the fun down.

What do I need to do? Are birds of prey just not viable in the 50-60 range? Do I need to 'get gud'? Do I need to get better gear? And if the latter, how do I afford it, when even with Delta Recruit rewards I have about 2.5 million energy credits and the cheapest Mark 14 dual heavy cannons were an order of magnitude more on the exchange?

There are very specific skill/boff/doff/gear combinations that are necessary to make bops viable at high levels. I'm no expert, but if you look at what's recommended for escort builds you should be able to find a workable solution. A lot of it is centered around crits, and you need a shitload of crith and critd to make it work.

I find bops and other kind of raider ships a lot more survivable with dbbs than dhcs but I'm not great at this game so take that as you will. Never have much trouble in missions using a raider ship.

Hm. Would a raptor serve me better? I just don't want the whole 'wallow like a pig and broadside like it's the age of sail' thing that Federation ships bigger than escorts have.

A big thing to keep in mind is that post-50 enemies start scaling absurdly quickly, and while Cryptic's toned the hull/shields down a bit since DR launched they take a lot longer to die and do a lot more damage to you. Personally I'd grab a battlecruiser or something durable, at least until you get MkXIV weapons, get enough doffs to have a good skill layout, etc. Don't forget that there's no reason you have to use cannons on a raider too, DBBs or even beam arrays are fine and give a lot more mobility and escape options.

Yeah, dbbs have a much wider arc so you can be moving more with FAW spammed and if you aren't already you really should consider setting throttle to like, mouse wheel or something as that makes it a lot easier to drop speed to zero, coast behind the target, crit until its dead with the flanking bonus, and then move very fast out of there.

Okay, so what's a decent battlecruiser setup, keeping in mind that I've only previously played to about level 20 and had to think a moment before I got some of those acronyms? I'm enjoying the story (believe it or not) and I just want to continue enjoying the story. It'd be the Negh--

120,000 refined dilithium for even a Tier 4 ship? It would literally take me less time to reroll my character and level back up to getting a free one than do that! That's a minimum of fifteen real days! What the hell?
