Every half ton Chevy I've looked at doesn't look like it'd hold its value well even though they'd probably be more reliable, at $1,200 the Dakota seems like the way to go. Have the kijiji ad? I landed directly on NDP, but I will be voting Alberta Party, as they finished 2nd in my riding in the byelections last year: They might actually have a chance, probably because it's the party leader Greg Clark's riding. Their HQ is directly across from OJ's in Marda Loop. We ran into one of the campaign people on byelection night at the Liquor Depot down the road from HQ, he had a shopping cart full of booze and was inviting everyone to come and party. It looked like they were going to be throwing down no matter what, so here's hoping they pull if off this time

If I tempered a few of those from a "strong" answer I'm pretty sure it would have had me probably about as far up as many of you guys on the social side of things so I think several offset which is why I landed in the middle. I am fairly anti-tax and anti-government handouts all around so I'm going to be on the right side of the fiscal line regardless.

I would be ok with reduced hand-outs if the job market made it possible for people to live off the wages offered, but no unions and a low minimum wage allows companies to pay pennies, and let the government pick up the slack to see people's needs met. A system where every rung of society can meet their basic needs with 1 full time job per household would obviously be ideal and negate the need for handouts, but that system can't be created by pulling the rug out from under the lowest rung. A family not making rent isn't going to make mcdonalds pay more. A person not having timely access to preventative care isn't going to make their long term care cheaper for society. In non-depressing news, the edmonton michener auction tomorrow has something for everybody now. God I wish I would've known about that sooner, would've made a weekend out of going up to Edmonton. As an aside, looked at a truck with "170k" that literally had everything broken/leaking. If you're going to roll back the odometer, at least make it somewhat credible.

To be fair 170k is more than enough time to fully trash a truck mechanically, given enough abuse.
