Bryan knows nothing about Japanese pro wrestling and I'm sure knows nothing about most indy promotions that aren't ROH and TNA. He fakes that he knows what NJPW is about and made up the storyline for the latest NJPW on AXS apparently.

On Cornette's podcast, Steve Austin was going on about watching "the big Dragon Gate show recently" and Cornette eventually figured out that he was talking about NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom 9, so at least Bryan's in good company vv

Yeah I'm not caught all the way up, but hearing them yell OH FOR FUCKS SAKE 10 times an episode gets a little tiring. But then again I listen to Meltzer regularly, so, y'know, it is what it is. To be fair, if there's ever a time to say for gently caress's sake about women's booking, a thong stinkface match is it.

In all fairness to them, the point they raise about how on one hand, WWE is getting more progressive in how it treats women while also having a stinkface match is a valid one. And it was worth it for Kefin's sort of crises that he might actually be misremembering and the women's division doesn't actually get better at all. Also, I don't know if it's just me but there seemed to be minimum 'For gently caress's sake' in this one.

In the very first podcast he did Taz talks alot about his debut and how it ended up being a bit of poisoned chalice for him. He goes into a lot of detail about how the response he got ended up causing him all sorts of political problems, and that one spot in particular where he protected Kurt from landing on his head ended up being reinterpreted by the front office (but not Kurt) as him taking liberties and trying to injure his opponent. Taz tales are seriously the best part of his podcast and a really interesting listen.

Yeah it's always been simply dividing into groups of 3 months with summer as June-July-August here in the UK, I guess if you went off of solstices midsummer would be June 21st making Summer itself cover early May to early August

I love Taz Tales and it is nice to hear a dude explain exactly how they got hosed over when they could have been huge without sounding bitter. Taz seems pleased with the career he had and grateful for the chance to transition to a broadcaster role when his injuries caught up with him.

Cardboard Box posted:i've been meaning to give cinema swirl a shot because kefin rules but i havent gotten around to it for whatever reason If you like AEP you'll like CS. It's very very funny without being cynical or snarky, and it's obvious Kefin and Sam have a lot of fun doing the show. The Commando episode actually made me pause for breath at a couple of points because I was laughing so hard, but it's worth starting from the beginning. One thing I will say is that the episodes covering films I haven't seen (Big Lebowski, Rocky) were a lot less entertaining than the ones I had. They don't go into great detail when covering the plot of each film so it's a lot easier to follow along if you're familiar with it yourself, and a lot of the gags work better too. Regardless I haven't heard a bad episode yet out of the dozen or so they've done. EDIT: turns out Billy's moved closer to the other guys so hopefully that means regular episodes of AEP will come out more often. I like the bono episos but there's definitely something missing if Billy isn't there for them TomWaitsForNoMan fucked around with this message at 10:01 on Apr 11, 2015 |

Vince McMahon is actually surprising ahead of the curve in this regard, in that he completely misunderstood what "wireless" meant and so spends a lot of time marveling at how the different radio "stations" always seem to have something he wants to listen to on them. He's also under the impression that Randy Orton works for Orson Welles, and he hasn't trusted Hulk Hogan since he found out he was Harry Lime.
