I wish my 660 Ti had more than 1.5GB of VRAM, would be nice to have even the PS4 textures without freezing every few seconds despite the 70FPS

Does the custom radio randomize the tracks in your folder or does it begin with the same song on your list every time you turn it on and play them in order?

Just bought the game on Amazon. Download was absolutely roaring for the first few minutes (relative for my connection at least), 4-5 hours to complete. Then I got disconnected and it jumped up to 15 hours. Then I paused and resumed and it's back to 4 hours I'm sick at home all day so babysitting this thing won't exactly be an issue anyway edit: I keep having to pause/resume this dumb thing. I had a pile of gift cards to use, otherwise I don't recommend buying it on Amazon based on the speeds I'm seeing. edit 2: 25% done in exactly an hour. Time to completion still reads 9 hours babies havin rabies fucked around with this message at 15:50 on Apr 14, 2015 |

For those with stuttering issues, I heard that switching from DX 11 to DX 10.1 can improve things. I'll try it tonight.

You can set it in options to random, sequential and radio. I imagine it goes in order from filename, but the game reads metadata too which is a nice touch. I wouldn't mind separate playlists but what we got works perfectly well.

I have to back up whoever said this game is well optimized. I honeslty expect most PC games to be like Watchdogs in terms of working. I have a really good GPU but a very out dated motherboard and processor that I'm going to upgrade this year and I was able to run everything on their highest settings and the only time I noticed a stutter was when I was driving. And I haven't played this game since PS3 and man is playing in first person a blast.

I cranked up all the other settings to Very High and it still runs smooth. I don't care/don't want to know my FPS because I'll probably feel inadequate even though I can't really tell the difference. Game plays great, I'm satisfied with my setup, not in any big hurry to upgrade.

cat doter posted:It's likely using system memory past 4gb, but you'd be surprised how little this actually matters. Shadow of Mordor is a good example of a game that runs just fine using system memory for the massive textures. On my pair of 970s I left the main "Graphics" page as it was other than jacking up the AA to 4xMSAA + TXAA settings and setting 144Hz mode without VSync. I then cranked up the Advanced Graphics page sliders as far as they go and the game tells me it's using 6312/8192MB. nVidia Inspector tells me that in game both of my GPUs are hitting 3512MB and plateauing there. I thought initially that the memory usage display was just doubled on SLI systems to show the actual usage, but it looks like it really is "swapping" to system memory after it hits the 970's wall. Benchmark results at these settings: code:

Anybody new to GTA Online: Most of the weapons introduced in content updates have no rank restrictions. The sawed off shotgun is available at level 1 and costs $0. GO GET IT. There's also several high powered rifles and pistols available for pretty cheap that you otherwise wouldn't have access to until much higher rank. Grab that poo poo and you'll stand a much better chance against other players. drat GTA Online is fun poo poo. Servers feel a little slow to get poo poo going but once it is, its a loving blast. And there's so much to do!

To anyone that has the problem where you get an appcrash error when you try to start any mode ("Grand Theft Auto V has stopped working...)": Redownloading and reinstalling the entire game from scratch fixed that issue for me.
