Atletico Mineiro has extended its streak against cruzeiro to 11 matches.

On Wednesday, Atletico needs to win by 2 against Colo colo to advance. It is the 5th time in the last 2 years that Atletico needs to win by 2 at home to advance in a competition. It has pulled it off the previous 4 times.

I want Guarani to beat Corinthians so bad. It was clear that Corinthians threw the match against Sao Paulo in order to get Guarani instead of Atletico.

That would be awesome of they can make it that far, anyway here's the weekly Liga MX post with the Main Event this week being the Mexican Super Clasico with Chivas taking on América on Sunday.

Granted, it was in the state championship finals against a 4th division team. But it was the title goal.

31 matches, or a little over 2200 minutes without a goal. And then he scores one 3 minutes after being subbed in.

Sorry for the double post, but here's Brazil's players for copa america:

gk:
Diego Alves
Jefferson
Marcelo Grohe

Defenders:
Danilo
Fabinho
Filipe Luis
Marcelo
David Luiz
Marquinhos
Miranda
Thiago Silva

Midfielders
Casemiro
Elias
Fernandinho
Phillipe Coutinho
Douglas Costa
Everton Ribeiro
Luiz Gustavo
Willian

Forwards:
Diego Tardelli
Neymar
Roberto Firmino
Robinho

It really highlights how bad the younger Brazilian generations are, and how many of them failed as professionals. When the new names are people over 25 playing in places like China, and you can't really point to anyone who would be a major upgrade, you know you have a problem.

Pratto should do all he can to become a Brazilian citizen before 2018. He'd be called up in a heartbeat.

I don't remember, in my life time, Brazil having so little talent at its disposal. Part of it is that the older generation burned out really quick (Ronaldinho, Kaka, Adriano, etc. are all 35 or younger). Part of it is that the younger generations bought into the hype and never reached their actual potential. Pato, Ganso, Leandro Damiao are all has-beens at 25 years old, happy to score the occasional goal in a state league in Brazil.

Ha! Corinthians sort of threw away the Sao Paulo game to avoid Atletico and face Guarani, a supposedly easier opponent. Except they just lost in Paraguay 2-0.
