Not too much glitchiness here (though there's a bit of flying people around 4:00), but this thread introduced me to Biggi & Banzaii, and I wanted to give back some love with their recent Cities: Skylines video. Since I'm 41 going on 11, I lost it at the reveal just after 4:10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULytXGnnfsE JacquelineDempsey has a new favorite as of 13:15 on Mar 30, 2015 |

Here's an alternate encode that has an explanation/commentary as Youtube close captioning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk_I4xOX4dA The long and short of it is that the programmers of the English localization made a lot of mistakes that they later fixed in the PAL release. One of those mistakes was breaking the stereo/mono selector in the options menu, so that pressing left with the leftmost option selected sends your cursor into Uncharted Memory Addresses instead of looping back over to the rightmost option. This, plus saving and resetting, does horrible things to your last party member (in this case Maxim), turning them into a Level 0 god-king with impossible stats that lags the hell out of the game. The TASser then does a second variant of the trick to glitch Maxim's name into being a 127-option multiple choice that lets the TASser arbitrarily play with a limited selection of event flags (different for each conversation?) any time a NPC mentions it. And that's when the magic starts...

Yeah I've been dicking about with it today. You can boot up a sandbox mode where you choose your character skin from any character or npc in the game, in all the various outfits, as well as time of day/weather etc then run around the map doing crazy poo poo with all the cheats a built in ingame menu away. Then you record your craziness, and boot it up in the editor to choose lighting, camera angles, music and export it straight to youtube. It's fantastic. There are 2 different settings to record too. One, where you are prepared and turn on at any time, and another where you turn it on and forget about it, then when something great happens unexpectedly, you can open the menu and tell it to save, and it will record the last 30 seconds before you hit save. There are a few limitations, however; Any footage recorded in First Person (or any footage that even contains First Person View) is unavailable for camera editing. You can't set up a free camera or alternate views for those recordings. I suspect this is because the speed you turn/look in First Person is much faster than your characters do when animated, and it would probably look weird if you did some bullshit 720 no-scope trickshot in First Person, and tried to view it in third person. (Although, what about Online?) Also, you can record in missions, but you are also restricted to the default gameplay cameras; no alternate angles or free camera in missions. Probably so you don't use the free camera to peer behind the scenes of the set pieces, and reveal that the cops just spawned out of thin air around that corner. On topic: GTA 5 glitch. Driving along when one of those little bubble/smart cars tried to occupy the same space as a pile of boxes on the side of the street. What resulted was a terrified NPC suddenly piloting a bubblecar rocketship powered by quantum cardboard through an intersection at warp speed, with the arse of the car in the air. I wish I recorded it, but I forgot about the editor

Speaking of GTA V, each of the player characters has a garage at their home where you can store cars for future use. Unfortunately because of the game's emphasis on realism instead of fun they don't become permanent occupants and if you lose them they stay gone, but what they don't tell you is that the garage isn't just a one-car thing, you can actually save as many as you can shove in! However, saving more than one car leads to, uh... problems... when you return to pick them up later. I love Franklin's defeated posture in the second one, as if he's saying "Man what the gently caress is happening with my life I just wanted to save a car in my driveway "

I just had a not fun glitch in GTA 5 Online. Doing the setup for the first heist you can do, we got to the bank, scoped it out and then picked up some chick and drove us all back to my apartment. That was it; end of setup mission. But the animations for when the garage door opens and the car with you all in it drives in hosed up, and the door opened, the car stopped existing, leaving me, my random pubbie co-heister, Lester and the chick standing outside the garage, looking mournfully in. Then the mission complete message came up, I got a Steam and Rockstar Achievement, and my Co-heister came over Comms "Hello? What is happening?! What is happening?!! OH GOD WHAT IS HAP-" and my character appeared behind the tally for the RP I'd gained and fell through the floor of my apartment, through the ground, into the void. The screen went white for 20 seconds, and I Crashed To Desktop. So that sucked, but my partner freaking out was pretty funny.

They've been doing this sort of thing since at least Vice City. I had two Infernuses and a PCJ 900 stuffed into the garage near Ocean Drive. It was always a crapshoot whether I'd open it and get exploded, or if one of them would just be gone, or if it would clip out of the garage while closing.

Isn't Lufia 2 the game that had the horribly hosed up sprite sets in a couple rooms, and everything looked like a garbled mess of various parts of other dungeons? How did they not catch this kinda stuff?

It's really easy to understand how they missed that in playtesting unfortunately.

GTA Online has some pretty great glitches that occur when the game is trying to spawn NPC vehicles on highways and the like. Occasionally you'll get 2 (or more!) cars trying to spawn in the same place, but the game is generally pretty good at doing it far enough ahead of you when you're flying down the highway that you don't see it happen as it happens. You just come across a car randomly flipping across the road, or a truck jack-knifing its trailer across 3 lanes of traffic, or a random city bus upside down and crushing a guy on his motorbike. It is equal parts frustrating and hilarious.

I had a glitch happen in GTA IV during a chare mission where I clipped my vehicle on something just before an intersection and as I was trying to accelerate the slowest police cars in the world were trying stop me from tr ying to drive through the intersection. The police's speed was perfectly matched with my slow as hell car, they would have blocked me had I not, you know, accelerated.
