I worked for a guy that had one of the first R8s in the UK. I went to his house to check some kit and asked him how he was enjoying it... "Well I was really loving driving it until it died..." Turns out one of the chips that controls the engine management system had gone kaput so it was dead. How long did it take them to sort the problem? 8 weeks. Next time I went round he no longer had an R8... In other news it's midday Saturday and I'm going to the gym to lift weights because I've just booked a holiday mid June and I need to look my best while strutting around in my pink kitten swimming trunks.

I put out 4 of those, and one was in an attached garage and had started overnight with the residents in the house asleep. It had breached the door of the garage and extended into the attic by the time it was discovered. The garage/truck was OFF when we got there. Ended up venting the roof of the garage while another two crews went through the front door and pushed the fire back through the attic and downstairs hallway to the garage. That was a fun morning.

This is normal, if you were to transfer a large file you'd find the actual transfer speed is (probably) considerably lower than gigabit. You only need CAT-5E/6 if full duplex speed is a requirement or if your runs are near the maximum length .

Probably true for 8, since I think they came with one key and two discs in the box. If you don't have the key, but bought Windows (i.e. it wasn't preinstalled) you can use Produkey or jellybean keyfinder to pull it out of the registry. If it's an OEM preinstall, there are other methods, but they're more complicated. Assuming your hardware is capable of 64-bit?

My dad and mom came over to the house to see the grandkids and I got my dad to help me bolt up the wall mount for my old flat screen. Got everything hooked up and plugged in. When I turned on the power the status led went from red to blue like normal but nothing turned on. No noise, no pop, no sizzle. Just a black screen with no response. The remote is working. I'm really bummed out. The TV worked fine when we last had it up, it's been sitting for about a year and a half in the basement waiting to be something awesome. The bastard of it all is it is probably not worth anything since it seems 42" TVs can be had for less than $300 now.

I scavenged a nice Samsung flatscreen monitor from the trash pile at work that was doing this (although it was intermittent). After Googling a little bit I found that they used glue on the electronics inside that over time dries out and becomes conductive. Solution - go in there with a plastic scraper type thing and carefully chip all of the lovely glue off of the electronics. I was kind of skeptical, but had nothing to lose except an hour or two, so I did it. It hasn't done it since, and I have the nicest screen of everyone in my office

That is all Microsoft cares about is a legal key. And yeah, if you are reinstalling, the most it might make you do is do the phone activation, which is really simple but boring and time consuming.

I just left a car meet that could have been plucked from the 90's it was so bad. And then some assholes got into a fight and one of them had a gun tucked in his belt so I said gently caress this and bailed. Passed 6 cops heading that direction on my way home.
