Now that I think about it, how does it handle queueing with friends if you're unranked? Can a brand new account duo queue with a silver 1, an MGE, a global elite?

lmao, just went from SE to SEM to GN1 back to back, with the last one being off of a really funny match with a dude who was convinced i was walling. to be fair, for my clan tag i do run "organner-pl" but thats just to make people even more mad and boy did it work. this was prob the highlight of the match for me: http://gfycat.com/BarrenMediumAmericanmarten that guy was so angry from that point on

It'll settle down once you got your rank. When my main placed a couple of months ago, I ended up in nova after having my rear end beat by mgs consistently- but I finally placed my smurf yesterday, and it scored an mg3 after having had most of the opposition at that level, same as on my main. if you suffer through enough defeats you'll eventually find some beatable people. Anecdotally, the ranking system seems pretty good at placing you where you belong in the end. Buddy of mine recently ranked a smurf, and he also ended up at exactly his current (mg3) rank too.

I played an embarrassing amount of 1.6 but my lovely comp couldn't handle CSGO well, well last month I bought a brand new one and warmed up for a few weeks in casual and tried mm. Got screamed at called a hacker just from being unranked and not bad.

The skill gap between a lovely DMG (me) and a good LE is pretty clear, so getting over that next hurdle will be tough. Ranking up within your pre-existing tier is relatively easy, as well as demanding, too.

Rank volatility seems to have changed? Playing with mates and I've never seen so many rank ups left right and centre. Somebody in our 5 seems to rank up every game.

Doesn't it retroactively take out matches of elo rating where there was a cheater? I remember someone saying that and why it was stupid for dummies to get their rank inflated by cheaters. Paying for rank is all kind s of retarded but I remember someone saying it was doubly so because of that.
