I worked with a storyteller who said he was shot by a .50 too. I guess it is the go-to bullet for cool stories since it is super big.

My uncle is a reserve SEAL who landed a headshot on an al-Qaeda prince from 3.5 miles away on the other side of a mountain. He used the corollary effect to bend the bullet around the mountain. He then had to evac on foot with nothing but a Barrett .500 Caliber pistol. Because it's classified, you won't read about it for years.

Isn't .50 the kind of stuff they use to pierce tanks and bunkers and stuff? Wouldn't that basically puree a human unless they were at the very end of the rifle's effective range?
