I'm the only person in my group of friends that doesn't enjoy PewDiePie. I don't hate it because I feel he's really charismatic and whenever he isn't acting for the internet he looks like a pretty decent guy, but goddamn it's depressing when everyone except me think he's hilarious. Also ElRubiusOMG (think Spanish PewDiePie) arrived to my country two or so weeks ago as part of a tour. Two of my relatives took +8hr trips to see him at the airport (so they spent like $100 in bus tickets alone, a fourth of a kinda-decent non-professional wage down here). And the first thing he Tweeted was a rape joke. Now gently caress THAT guy.

Arin's main problem is he tries to play a character, while everyone else is just kind of themselves. It's not uncommon that he's himself on the show, and the episode quality drastically improves when he is. Comparatively, Danny and the others are pretty much always themselves. Ross drives me nuts unless he's with Danny though because he'll keep talking over everyone's jokes with random babble. Speaking of wild swings in quality, recently they had Mario 64 and Bloodborne running at the same time, and while Arin was crazy good at Bloodborne and explained many of the game mechanics and lore tidbits, he completely loving blew it at the most basic Mario 64 levels to the point that even Danny was getting pissed off.

I admit that when my current job ends I'm going to attempt commercialised streaming for a bit. (I have a redundancy payment and I don't feel like going back to the grind right away, so I've got a few months to loon around in relative comfort and try stupid things. ) I am a terrible sellout. It probably won't work because 'Middle aged british lady plays video games' isn't much of a hook.

Ross is crazy hit or miss for me, sometimes he's trying way too hard to be a goofball and its really obnoxious but then sometimes it'll click and he's super endearing on a side note kevin was fun in the st patricks day thing

Alternatively, play Xenoblade Chronicles and become indistinguishable from the game.

I think part of the thing with Arin is that sometimes, he just doesn't seem to be very engaged with the game itself, so he hasn't got anything relevant to say and doesn't really seem to want to make an effort to approach it, either. At that point, his go-to schtick seems to be to become a howling, Sandleresque maniac and it's just obnoxious and not very funny. To me, anyway. I guess it's fair enough to not be invested in everything, I just wish it didn't all devolve into monkey noises when that happens.

Yeah, it's important to not have weird accents though. I have a German accent for some odd reason and they all think I'm a crazy foreigner. (They're right) But seriously, british accents have the benefit of having personality while not being offensively and yet (mostly) unintentionally funny (thick texan, hell yeah) or as milquetoast as unassuming American (which is every American accent to me, except the really exaggerated ones)

I'm lucky in that I have an English Canadian accent, which is like a generic american accent except it also delights or blindingly infuriates people when I say things like "about" and "zed"

I won't say that I have no accent because to everywhere else in the world except for the US, I do, because they consider themselves to be the ones without an accent; but I will say that asking foreign friends what region of the US I'm from based on how I speak always concludes with "uh... well, not the south, but..."

Where does Australian fall into this mix? I've met some Americans who think I'm putting on an act at first, and I've got a fairly watered-down accent. Some people would tell me they like my accent, but I don't think it's ever been a draw, despite how similar to British accents it is.

Anyway, to the british lady, I'm sure you'll do fine. Hell, you could just film yourself opening up CS:GO cases, and you'll get donations.

Australian and Canadian accents are more interesting and "friendly"-sounding to me, a native Spanish speaker, than anything else. It's an opinion that most people I've talked to here share with me (even if they don't actually understand English). American accents to me are narrowed down to South and Rest of the U.S.A.

Southern drawl, midwestern "clear" (read, everyone that doesn't have a distinct accent) , midwestern "hillbilly", Cali "surfer", New Jersey. Those are the only ones I can sorta hear.

Psychedelic Eyeball may be French Canadian, but I'm still fairly certain that he is an accent unto himself.

I tend to think I don't have an accent, but then I have people from the same region talking to me and ask where I'm from because my accent is weird and I'm like, I'm from around here, and then they'll try to guess where I'm actually from. So far I've gotten Ireland, Britain, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Germany, Norway, Greece, a few more and I'll have European Bingo. I live in BC and don't travel much.

Brits tend to think I have an American accent, for some reason. I don't know what Americans think. I'm not, at any rate. But I swear, most people from my country have the most atrocious accent ever and it's instantly noticeable. Also, the thing that always gets me about Psychedelic Eyeball is the way he hasperates hevery word that starts with a vowel for some reason. Is that typical of French Canadian accents?

"Generic American" is the sound of mass media, so it gets a pass in that respect. And yeah, French Canadian accents sound weird. The emphasis is in all the wrong places.
