I wonder if it's ever been redone in high quality by a decent artist? Surely it has, it's iconic.

Sorry, I'm not saying he's not a fantastic artist, I meant... I wonder if it's ever been redone in high colour/resolution/not-restricted-by-60's-comic-printing quality. By a decent artist as opposed to the terrible ones that usually like to do famous panel redraws.

The newsprint look is part of the charm. Blow it up to poster size and you've got yourself a genuine faux Lichtenstein.

My friend bought some art prints a few years back that were just the panel boarders, word balloons, and sound effects of famous comic scenes (I think he got the death of Gwen Stacey and Banner becoming The Hulk). That Galactus page would seem like a good contender for a page to convert.

Wouldn't it be better than Lichtenstein as it's actually by Kirby and not Roy ripping off Kirby and not crediting?

I haven't read as much FF as I should, so I assumed it was from the original Galactus story, what with the semi-Stan-sounding "HIM WHO IS GALACTUS" narration. Should've known because of no Krackle, though. Whoops!

Byrne was one of the best superheroes artists of the 1980s (his personal faults notwithstanding) and it's stuff like his FF run that shows why.

As good an excuse as any to post Alan Moore's greatest creation.

EDIT - I kid, but Top 10 is my favourite Moore work. I could post a ton of pages from that in this thread, but there's also a number of scenes that I've never finished reading without it suddenly getting a little dusty in my room.

"goddamn" instead of "fuckin'" IIRC, but regardless, agreed. That whole sequence is so perfect. "Yessir." *launches giant gently caress-off energy beam from his chest.*

Actually, He says "Break her £$%&ing neck, son." And then he tries to read her the Miranda rights before opening up. The advantage of having Absolute Top 10 withing two feet of you when you post.

Top 10 being so goddamn niche is a crime, even if it does suffer from that problem Moore sometimes gets where he thinks he can write down song lyrics and the average reader will do anything other than skip them.

Top 10 is fantastic, but the non-Moore spinoffs/sequels vary from decent to atrocious. Smax is penned by Moore, though, and it owns:
