I think what you are saying is this season ended incredibly early this year.

I wonder how many of the Sherpas families are going to be hurt from this earthquake... Can't be too many Sherpas that are going to do anything other than rebuild their lives for the next few months right?

I hope the people who are at the upper camps and survived write some cool books about getting hosed over by the mountain and still getting back down and surviving.

I'd settle for no more people dying though :ohdear:

Two years in a row, the season is halted by a major deathwave before we even get close to summit-time. The mountain is clearly sick of our poo poo.

Now I feel like a dick for participating in the death pool.

This is great, not only are a bunch of rich people stuck on a mountain, the people that show them how to survive on the mountain are running of it without them. LOL, gotta be loving hell for the survivors as they try to figure out how to actually climb down a mountain.

Um, on the upside I picked 18 so I'm currently winning?

The pictures of the sherpas being all "gently caress this!" are crazy. On the one hand, I want to be like "hey, that's not nice, you jerks, stay and help!" But on the other hand, when the mountain clearly tells you to GTFO, how can you fault those who listen to it.

Plus it was a big earthquake, not just an everest event. So their wives, children, cousins and so on are all potentially in danger back at home. In that situation I'm not sure playing tour guide for a bunch of strangers would be more important to me than checking that my family was okay.

Yeah, it also seems like they'll have a better chance of helping at the nearby cities than they will on the mountain, especially if it's true that the icefall route is completely obliterated. What are you even really supposed to do?

Hahaha, I think the death pool is great.

People dying is tragic made even worse by the fact that it's completely unnecessary. But there is nothing wrong with pointing at a person's awful life choices and mocking them for the ridiculous nature of their actions.

The earthquake is a tragedy to all impacted. The Everest deaths are the result of rich people trying to prove something while risking their lives and the lives of others. gently caress that.
