quote:

The Gunsmith section of the game lets players deck out their gun with custom paintjobs, similar to how Treyarch let players create custom emblems in Black Ops 2. Using some stock shapes and simple tools, players will be able to decorate their weapons with custom-built imagery. Treyarch promises precision editing controls and up to 64 layers per side. It's a perk that will let players design the look of their guns, whether they want them to be sleek and sharp, or look a little DIY.

When are we going to get our Master Chief Collection-style compilation where I can play all of the Modern Warfare/Blops MPs from last gen? That's all I want :sigh:

I'm still going to buy this though.

Looks like they were strongly inspired by Destiny's PvP. Hell, the name of the bow is called a Sparrow. Sounds like there will be a little more balance between these class specific powers than Destiny's at least.

Its special ability, Glitch, lets players "flashback" to a previous position — sort of a time travel/teleportation move, and similar to another hero-based shooter character, Overwatch's Tracer.

I can almost hear the pubbie rage of them confusing this with network lag.

Very unlikely, they'd never sell another CoD again until the next console generation.

Vonderhaar tweeted about Destiny a lot, got all 3 classes to 32. So I'm not surprised.

Dom will not be time based. First half will be the first team to get to 100 points, second half will be the first to get to 200.

Pick 10 is back. It's possible to have 5 attachments on a gun.

You can go from multi to zombies without breaking up and reforming a party, it's unified this time.

I'd prefer they didn't have a break at all, but basing the end of the round on score is a good compromise that should allow last minute 3-cap wins again.

I assume this will be the same for co-op campaign as well (not that I see co-op campaign as popular as the other two). It's a relatively small detail, but I can appreciate the unification of the modes from technical perspective.

Specialist better not mean classes like in battlefield. That is some stupid poo poo if I can't use the gun I want because I chose a certain class.

They said it's separate from pick 10. It's like the classes in Destiny, where you can use any gun

There aren't entire weapon classes limited to a specialist character (i.e. AR for Assault and SMGs for Engineer) a la Battlefield. Each specialist has a special weapon or power they can activate. Again, think of it like Destiny where you chose your primary/secondary weapon which isn't class specific but had a class specific ability.

That being said, there are specialist/weapon combos that will probably work well together. For example, I could see Ruin being a good base for a shotgun class since his ability is to have a speed boost.

The whole "gun always up ready to fire" thing sounds like probably a good thing. How many times do we all die sprinting around corners to get back to the action? Now we won't have to stop the sprint to ready a weapon to round a corner safely.

I am actually not concerned or surprised at all that Black Ops 3 is or is seen as derivative of another game (namely, the recently announced deus Ex: Mankind Divided). What I am worried about, though, is another game that employs the classic "cybernetics eat your soul" trope. Deus Ex also used this trope to at least some degree, but I do not expect the same nuances and choice to be present in Call of Duty.

Black Ops 2 had more nuance and choice than 99% of RPGs in the last two gens.

I'm going to get blops 3 anyway, might as well ignore the hype train so I can be more impressed when the game actually comes out. In the meantime, I'll continue playing AW.

The somewhat slower movement of blops 3 makes you think though. If exos are more agile than limb replacements, wouldn't exo equipped armies win in a fight against armies with limb replacements? Or is it the limb replacement dudes are more durable (maybe we will also see a high TTK now with the game going full Destiny)? Seeing as how blops3 seems to be set after AW (2060). I need to know for IMMERSION's sake

Why is this so true :negative:

Like the massive gigantic tool that I am I will probably get Blops 3 at release as well. I am also glad they've said that the movement system will not be exactly like in AW (which imo was incredibly annoying and slow), the mantle and wall-running mechanic seems to be pretty fun if what I heard is true.

Been replaying AW and I'm glad the weapon balance seems to have kicked in, though I still think a smg that has a better 3 shot kill range than almost every assault rifles + has no movespeed penalty and also aims quicker is still pretty ridiculous to have.

At least I got the XMG's to keep me happy.
