I'm kinda not too keen on fighting robots- it was ok for a one-off, but it's pushing the bounds of the specific, weird form of comic book realism that the series has established. If they were guild-based, that would at least make some sense. Now apparently Riddler is also a roboticist. Not sure how I feel about that.

Character switching between Batman and friends was on my wishlist for AK features since the end of City as a way to up the ante on combat and stealth. Pretty pumped that it made it in. Between this and the Batmobile Rocksteady looks to be getting hyper-ambitious with its last Batman outting and I'm super excited after how stale Origins was. So you're okay with the Riddler making complex death traps and bizarre puzzles that make use of tons of advanced technology but not robots, a thing already established to exist in the setting in multiple places? I mean we fight Mr. Freeze and Clayface and drone tanks. Realism it ain't. One of the boss fights in the previous game is against a literal undead zombie-man. My theory is: They are a takedown that instantly disables an enemy and in doing so allows you to swap instantly to another character. The other characters have reduced movesets but their special moves/combos/ect can further build your combo multiplier or perhaps they specialize against certain kinds of enemies. (i.e: Catwoman can gently caress up robots better or something.) Just based off what they show I feel like it's going to be less "AI Robin fights alongside Batman" and more "AI Robin is conveniently offscreen until he is summoned to do a combo attack and takes over." The fact that the characters shown so far are all characters who were playable in previous versions of the game kind of makes me think they're doing light recycling.

If true I'm gonna D&D with Batman and then switch to Catwoman to finish everyone with her beatdowns, which I loved. gently caress Robin. Also wondering about suit damage in this game, I don't remember Asylum but in City and Origins the suit damage looked cool but I'll really like to be able to turn it off if I wanted, like a swapout of a new suit at the batcave or something. So excited for this game. Hopefully it won't require a computer upgrade for me to hit 60fps.

Maybe the ally takedowns will be sort of like the assassin call-ins from Assassin's Creed, you'll get a certain number of charges to call them in for guaranteed takedowns. That being said maybe the minigun guys it shows in the trailer require a double takedown, otherwise they're immune to silent takedowns like the armored jerks.

I feel like I'd really have to know EXACTLY what gets added and there better be a metric fuckload of maps and characters but still, jesus christ that's the price of a full game in DLC. The Arkham series are the only games that are a guaranteed full price day one buy for me. Mortal Kombat X is tempting, though. It looks beautiful and my wife is a big MK fan.

I rented Lego Batman 3 and its DLC practice was pretty heinous. They basically took all of the fun mini-missions from previous lego games (perfected in lego marvel) and released them in a season pass. We're talking something like five dollars for less than ten minutes of content. I did pick up Cold Cold Heart when it was on sale on PSN a few weeks ago, though. Still have to rent Origins again to enjoy it.

I preordered this game on Steam a long while ago, but since then I've bought a PS4 and I'm wondering if I should cancel my preorder for Steam and get a PS4 copy instead. I've never played any of the Arkham games on a console, is there much of a difference? Harley stuff is only available for the PS4 right?

I poked around and I guess Harley is a preorder bonus regardless of what version you get, but it sounds like I still might be better off dropping by Gamestop and putting in a preorder instead because man, I just don't know if my computer can take it. I've played the other Arkham games fine but I think the PS4 might outstrip my computer on this one.
