is there anyway using windows explorer.exe to sort files based on a custom function? like i want to rip out a timestamp in the filenames using regex and sort on that. is this possible in the most advanced operating system in the world, Windows 8.1?

whats the best way to remove the thermal gunk on a cpu to switch coolers? i noticed with the stock intel cooler my cpu has been running at 90-100° C under heavy load so it would actually be removing the intel poo poo and some unknown thermal compound since i want to try an old cooler i have stuck in an old build first before maybe buying a new one. is this a bad idea, should i just get a new one (i don't use the old computer and it hasn't been powered on for maybe a year), etc?

Work is looking in to getting us some interactive teaching software for us to use at work, so we can do outlandish presentations that require interaction between an automated script and the user. For example, a reading script will show a slide on screen, and an automated voice will talk about the slide. Then, on the next page, we have a small quiz regarding anything that was just shown. Wrong answers can then explain why it's wrong, and what the right answer is for what reason. Anyone know of any good programs we can use?

Also, we're looking for the ability to create the interactive lessons, we don't need a host or anything as we already have our own. I'm guessing it'd probably be Powerpoint/HTML5 based, but would like to have some ability to streamline it.

is the wrt54gl enough to handle a 25mbit dsl connection with QoS rules or is the hardware too old to do it effectively? they're still skating by on a 200mhz processor but I really like the tomato firmware, but even the cheapo $20 tplink things that can run dd-wrt are coming with 500+mhz chips
