Fast Luck: Feb 2, 1988

The sets and reps you can choose are finite. They will only be offered as many times as they exist on the chart below:

Consider the above icons like tiles or tokens. If you successfully claim one of these tiles, it will come off the board and belong to you. Each player will start with their weight tile, and by the end of the challenge will also have a rep tile and a set tile. You will multiply the three values together to see if you've reached a 750 pound workout. Your personal exercise regimens will be determined in the following way:

I will place a rep or set amount up for grabs, following a pre-determined order to be made available when the challenge begins. One tribe will go first, and send a participating player into the thread to claim the rep/set currently available.

The other tribe will then have a chance to counter or pass. Do not wait for me to post in between claims.

The tribe who made the opening claim, if countered, will then have the final option to claim back or pass. However, if they choose to claim, the player making the response cannot be the same person who made the opening request. If you wish to claim back the set/rep in question, your tribe will have to send a different player to do so.

You may communicate with your tribe throughout this game, but outcomes are being tracked for each player individually. If you successfully claim a set or rep, that set or rep belongs to you and cannot be passed to another player in your tribe. You also may not claim a second set or rep tile if you already own one of that type.

Tribes will alternate opening each round.

You will have two minutes to make each response. If a claim is made too late, it will be dismissed.

Each player may claim only one rep and set amount. If a player tries to claim a second rep or set, that claim will be dismissed.

If a tribe accidentally has multiple players post a claim in the same round, all claims but the first will be dismissed.

Failing to post within the allotted time will be considered a Pass. If everyone passes on an item, it will be assigned by me, alphabetically, to a player from the tribe who opened the round.

At the end of the challenge, whichever tribe has more players over 750 pounds will be the winner. If both tribes have the same number of players over 750 pounds, looking at those players only, the winning is the tribe whose players came closest on average to the 750 goal. If there's somehow a total tie, there is a lovely tiebreaker mechanism in place.

I'll give you until 8:30 to strategize and ask questions.

Please let me know which five players will be competing for your tribe. Also, let me know if you want your tribe to open up bidding in the first or the second round. Whichever tribe asks first will get the spot they prefer.

Each of you wants to hit at least 750. If all five of your players make 750, you'll probably win.

And to answer Chic Trombone's question, yes, it's just "I want it." Work with your tribe so that only one of you asks at a time.

It would be a mad scramble, except only one tribe is up to bat at a time, and I expect that tribe to be working together! The winning tribe is the one with the most members reaching 750, so a tribe should work amongst itself cooperatively to get as many players over 750 as possible.
