On the one hand, there are widespread allegations of child abuse, brainwashing and all the usual stuff that cults do, but on the other hand we spoke to some of them and they were nice

more to the point, why do they have a statue of Ray Romano from the film Ice Age (2002), Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006), Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009) and Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012) lurking in the background?

In one of the articles on them they talk about how they don't watch many movies, but apparently they do watch a few and they really liked Ice Age. That's not really a good explanation for having a giant statue of the character though.

I went to visit that place on a university field trip (Canterbury). It was interesting, they all had waterbeds and they fed us beef stroganoff. I have pictures of them doing an arctic themed show and I'm pretty sure it included that mammoth thing, but they're on an ancient phone and I can't get them off.

Ha I did that paper too, the one on closed communities? I wonder if that trip will keep going after all this. But yeah interesting place (even if you are just getting a tour). The blue clothes are because they bought an old shipment of men's US navy uniforms back in the day. Had a nice conversation after dinner with someone who then let me know I was going to hell haha.

"He said in the last six years under National the annual cost of new initiatives was less than $2.9b compared with $20b in the last six years of Helen Clark's Government." http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/68191274/bill-english-prebudget-speech-a-tax-cut-carrot-but-books-deteriorating Yes, because it sounds smaller to say 6 x 2.9 than 20, even though $17.6b is fairly close to $20b anyway (and the latter figure is probably rounded up).

Well 2.9 is a LOT smaller than 20, and since we know that this is a Bad Number, a smaller Bad Number is a better Bad Number.
