I never really played around with GG2k's create-a-character mode. I might do that, since it sounds fun but I just kinda wanted to make goofed up poo poo at the time. And okay I didn't know about the dual Tiger team, that's pretty amazing.

It was great how bizarre Gai and Silber were for KoF. Gai's entire moveset basically being a branching grapple combination and Silber having about two moves and no move speed were preeeeetty different from the norm. Sokolov and Python totally need a comeback, though. There's not enough "pragmatic Russian olympian fucktrain" in fighting games.

When you tie up it starts rock, paper, scissors, when someone has the high ground there it goes to a thing where you aim with the right stick to find the spot, winner of the spot minigame generally gets to do a move or get out of/reverse the grapple. Easiest way to win a match is to grapple dudes down and then while they're doing, instead of striking them or ground grappling them, showboat a little with taunts so you can build to a signature/finisher faster. You can win matches just fine without a finisher but it's the fastest way to put someone down for 3.

I've found that one of the better ways to avoid getting into a tie up is to sprint and grapple instead of a standing/walking grapple so that you can do a bit of damage to them and help to do standing grapples more easily.

The team moves were fun because you had four types of them. 1 vs 2, 2 vs 1 (normal), 2 vs 1 (special), 2 vs 2 (burning). The 2 vs 2 ones were usually both members of the team hitting their finishers in the opposite corners at the same time, unless you had the Muscle Docking one. Twin uranages was always fun though.

Silver is really good, and while he may have no speed at all, his power is very strong and his moves are no nonsense. It's only now that you see him because back when the game was popular you only saw boring Kula/Gato/Oswald teams.

I guessing one of them was the Vortz in Tuff E Nuff/Dead Dance. That game was fun, but you could cheese the computer so much with Vortz and his Iron Claw grab over and over. Only opponent it didn't work on was Shirou (the ninja), but he could be cheesed with the shoulder tackle.

You could do that, but you'd get reversed way too much later on, plus the kick combos were so strong.

I got a bit bitchy there, sorry. Just frustrated because I was trying everything and was still getting crashes and extreme slowdown.

Just checked my specs against what's recommended and I shouldn't have any problem playing the game on its highest settings, let alone minimum with 0 crowd density.

Reminder that outside of Universe you can turn this 'feature' off (along with stamina and weight classes), and in Universe this part is mandatory but stops happening once either wrestler has lost their first health bar or exhausted their stamina entirely once. If it really gives you problems, you can just run around the outside of the ring to around a 6-count to exhaust your own stamina and then you'll never have to do the tie-up shite.

Maybe your 4th will also be Reigns, and then you can have 2 of them!

I'm just stockpiling survivor fusion cards for when they eventually release Wrestlemania fusions. I'm assuming those will all take a week by themselves. So I'm planning on building up a pile of survivor fusions so I don't have to sit through the 10 days to make them for the first little while. I'm not even going to bother thinking about making pros unless they're Nikki's since my RTG divas still need a bit of a boost.

I'm replacing survivor pros with RTG Wrestlemania pros every RTG. A Survivor fusion isn't going to help me in exhibition vs. Wrestlemania cards. So I might as well stockpile a bunch of fusions now so I can dump them quicker when the Wrestlemania fusions come in a couple months.

The face almost always wins the PCC assuming there are no massive disparities in power level on the lower tier cards.

I assume at the higher tiers the droprate is so low as to almost entirely be reliant on the hard limit to resets without getting a reward of your tier, so the tiers below WM probably drop about the same or less frequently without that guarunteed drop every few hundred resets.

I'm currently feeling the crush in pcc as my WM exhibition with my all Right arrow team of pro rtg WM bret, pro wm cena, Pro fusion SV Bryan + 2 epics is struggling to beat the 3x RTG WM Pro teams that crop up in the +3 and +5 tiers. So jealous of those HHH WM pro havers.

Hoss Corncave posted:

The best thing about the Dreamcast version of that game was the create a wrestler mode. You started off with a bare minimum moveset (punch, body slam, elbow drop, etc), and would pick opponents to train against in short bouts. When they did moves on you, you could learn them and then be able to do them in your next bout. In addition to this, you could level the moves up, to strengthen them, so learning the brainbuster and getting it to level 30 would unlock the ability to change it into a sheer drop brainbuster, and then levelling the sheer drop brainbuster to level 30 unlocks the Steiner Screwdriver. You could also combine moves to make stronger ones, like combining the Argentine Backbreaker with the Orange Crush to make the Burning Hammer. It could be irritating to unlock all the moves, but if you got the Giant Gram 2.1 (Tiger's Burning Special), it was worth it.

Yeah gg2k CAW is the best CAW (appearance aside).
