I mean I woud imagine this whole period was just kind of a celebratory grill-off where they all loitered around the foothills of thangorodrim eating hot-dogs and such why interrupt it by doing work, much less waging tunnel warffare against mud people V. Orcs reproduce naturally, and Tolkien ended up not resolving where they came from. I personally like to synthesize all the possible origins (genetically engineered elves, genetically engineered humans, genetically engineered animals, minor maiar), but that's just me.

atm i'm bottlenecked by some text extraction being much slower than anticipated, so i have literally nothing to do except nerd it the gently caress up on the internet i normally feel that being pedantic about fantasy logistics etc. is rather missing the point of mythological fantasy, which is that the siege of angband being four hundred years long is meant to illustrate a thematic point about evil rather than saying anything about the military engineering of a bunch of immortal aryans

that whole "trust fund kid" thing is why Arrow is so funny, it's a literal frat boy trust fund babby billionaire who runs around killing people they should have gone further with the whole "rich people are the problem" theme, but otherwise it's all good oliver queen being so intensely unlikeable is one of the best parts of that series
