It has to be some kind of performance art piece with kickstarter as the medium. It has to be.

I saw the exploding kittens KS then saw it had Inman art and ran away without looking at the rules. Is the gameplay that similar?

This looks pretty interesting: Fall of Magic is an RPG on a cloth scroll. It's $65 for one copy, but that's a 6' cloth scroll and some metal coins, so I can understand the price.

According to BGG, Katalyka actually made it to its backers. Katalyka being the game that got massively derailed when the creator started uh, talking to the sun. So basically massive mental issues. Did anyone back it? Receive it? I'm curious what the game is even like given its background.

You could hang it on your wall? I agree, though; this looks really cool and I get why it costs that much, I just can't justify the purchase. In other Kickstarters I can't afford to back right now, Kieth Baker's card-based RPG Phoenix: Dawn Command has two days left. I also wonder how many people are backing this thinking it's the other Vincent Baker.

Holy cow - not only did I get Spirit of 77, which is badass and impressively on-time, I got a kickstarter I'd given up on - Call of Cthulhu Writhing Dark Playing Cards. It's pretty fantastic. So within a week I've gotten Feng Shui (very 90's) and Spirit of 77. I wish I had backed an 80's-themed game.

Gonna ask this here since it looks like other people are reading the pdfs. With '77 in the story sections why do the attribute increasing options say [Requires ..] where that is the base skill that the story has to have? Am I missing something? It seems really redundant but all the stories have it so I'm sure I am.

I think it's so you can't easily multiclass into them.
|
# ? May 5, 2015 16:27 |
|
Yeah, basically that. After a certain level you can pick moves from another role/story, but only ones that role/story picks from for its "choose one/two" options, not its mandatory moves. This means you can't grab the stat increase moves from another playbook, because they require the mandatory move(s) you don't have access to.

You see completing Far West is a supertask, for each step to completion there is an intermediary step that must be reached, and for each intermediary step there is yet another intermediary step which goes on into infinity. Completing Far West is impossible because he will always be "almost done".
