I think I figured out what went wrong with the doffing xp.

Originally, the only high xp 12 hour missions in the game were the kdf-only Gorn uprising ones, it was an incentive to play kdf, part of the "kdf get better doffing" compromise.

Cryptic forgot, and made more 12 hour missions, first in the Dyson sphere and then in the delta quadrant, now there are a bunch of them and they don't require 5 hard to get doffs and 2 kinds of commodities each like the Gorn ones did.

I've posted about it in the bug reports, the trib thread and my thread, let's see if they give a poo poo :ironicat:

No, 7k is what you get now if you crit. Which requires 5 hard to get doffs for a decent crit chance. The fixed versions will reward 700 or so. Remember that it takes 150k XP to get a single spec point.

160k but yeah poo poo is hosed either way. Just a reminder it takes 366k to get to level 50, post 60 that gets you a little less than 2.3 spec points.

I haven't played in months (since a little before Delta Rising I think) and was thinking about getting back in. Reading the last 10 or so pages to catch up on the state of the game, it seems like that might not be a good idea though. If I do decide to come back, has anything changed in terms of ship design that I should know about? Are T-5 ships still serviceable/can I keep using my Scimitar or do I have to grind out whatever the new hotness is?

The Scim will be fine for the most part. You'll want to get an upgrade token to get it to t5u which adds 10% hull and an extra console slot. You're looking at 700 zen for that or about 8-10 mil on the exchange. You can find it under search all but the exchange is still borked so you want to filter for lieutenant level items to get the actual lowest price listings to show up.

Uh... in space, not a whole lot? Suppression Barrage is a nice crowd control/debuff when combined with FAW, and Rally Point Marker is a good team heal but situationally useful at best? Everything else is useless poo poo and even those two are mostly to justify pretending the command seat is worth having.

Most of the ground command powers are pretty good though, lots of team buffs. Strategic Analysis, Return Fire, and Hammer and Anvil are all great, and Delegated Devestation is useful to throw on a sci boff or something for those cases when you have the whole away team since giving the captain more damage is probably more useful than letting them plink away. Overwhelm Shields can be useful too but depends on fighting stuff that has shields (so, not Bug Hunt).

Also  pilot ships.

The good powers for command slots are the tac/eng/sci skills that should be there in the first place.

Why couldn't they have made the Fed Pilot ship a T6 Defiant? Seriously its done barrel rolls and all that in the show.

The inevitable T6 Defiant will more then likely have a pilot seat. But seriously Cryptic.

Not spending my money on these.

It will almost certainly be a T6 escort ship with a hybrid pilot seat, even if it's not a direct redo of the corvette. It probably won't be a full pilot-type ship though, since Cryptic wants you to buy the big money bundle to get that gimmick. Sort of like how the Samsar was had a command seat but wasn't actually a command cruiser.

They will. They did the same thing with the intel and command specs. Release the big pack first and it'll sell because people want to play with the new mechanics. Release the iconic ship a month or two latter and people will buy it because its from the shows. It makes sense since a 9 pack of pilot ships is a lot less tempting once you can get a T6 Defiant with pilot seating.

The other ships didn't get the special powers though, only the BOFF seat.

And it's not like Gecko is unaware of the complaints and the issue, as he was mocking players on his twitter (some tweets have since been deleted) before sending Trendy to go deal with it.

There's no "bringing it up with the Devs" when the head Dev himself already knows and, instead of giving any meaningful response, is a snarky douche about it. At this point Trendy is just hoping for the thread to die down (as closing it would only make things worse).

Also gently caress Iconian rep. All three of the queues are tedious, it's basically a crapshoot whether pubs have enough DPS to get the optionals in grethor, the other space one just gives poo poo-all reward, and I guess the ground one will be kind of okay next patch but dammit I play this game to shoot lasers at things in space and why do you want me to buy ships if there's nothing fun to use them in cryptic? Meanwhile Bug Hunt is alright but I ran it a billion times for the delta rep, and while the two Kobali open missions give you tokens easily they just barely give enough marks to qualify for the daily bonus. I'm going to get enough marks for the sets sometime by 2016 at this rate.

Seriously, why the hell does Cryptic love splitting up the party and shoving fixed timed sections into space STFs? The former all but guarantees failure/optionals failure because I can't carry the rest of the schlubs, and with the latter there's a 30 minute cooldown when you finish the thing anyway there's no reason to force every goddamn queue to be 15+ minutes.
