He has a genuine reason for doing that though, being that he's going to lose his seat to the Greens at the next election if the Libs preference the Greens over the ALP.

If he were leader I'd of probably have been in the ALP for a few more months but I don't think any policy difference would happen between Shorten or Albo, it's just a face realistically. It would have given me short term hope but reading Albo's panic blogs on News Ltd. makes me think far less of him than what he sounded like in 2013/Ballot era.
