If Ise and Hyuga are not going to be in this game in their hermaphrodite carrier roles, someone needs to be fired.

You can pretty much guarantee the following will be premiums offered for sale on respective famous dates: USS Arizona (Dec 6th), USS Missouri (VJ Day), USS Enterprise (Midway), HMS Prince of Wales (Bismarck/Sinking), HMS Exeter (River Plate), HMS Belfast (Partnership with the museum), Admiral Graf Spee (River Plate)

Why would they sell premium ships that would be a specific hull from a ship class already present in the regular ship tree ?
How would they differentiate it gameplay wise ? there wouldn't be much differences in primary weapons or ship stats.

Concerning anti air.
When is it worthwile to pick the anti air range upgrade ?
I've got it on my Cleveland but don't notice much difference in effectiveness against aircraft, my captain is quite low level though so I don't have the active ability upgrade yet.

3x3 Forward facing 16" guns is nothing to sneeze at really. With 12 6" guns on the back, 2 24.5" torpedo tubes and 64 AA guns of different types to top it off. Pretty slow sadly though.

They have to though otherwise the trees are going to get weird. I don't see how they can't put Queen Elizabeth Class in to the British line, I'm assuming the Warspite is in the alternate configuration after it's reconstruction and the others will be as built Queen Elizabeth Class.

Ships aren't the same as tanks, as long as they didn't sink WW1 and interbellum vessels underwent a variety of upgrades to hulls, guns, armour and other systems across their lifespan as technology improved, because it was treaty compliant (and occasionally cheaper) to do so.

It may not play hugely different, but you can pick a layout from a particular point in time that isn't being represented by the ship class in the tree and you've got a unique vessel. It's not like Fury is vastly different from an Easy Eight, and the new T-54 early sounds pretty similar to a T-44.

On the Cleveland, I recommend the accuracy upgrade instead of the AA one. I have chosen both AA perks on my cruiser captain though and the second AA upgrade on my Baltimore. It simply murders planes.

I just got the Aoba and played one game in it before bed. I got straight up murdered in two salvo's from (I think) a Pensacola while only getting about 4 salvo's out, and ended up at the very bottom of the team for xp. I was less than pleased. Hopefully I can do better in it next time, because I'm really used to being at the top of the team xp list in my Pensacola (or Cleveland). It was on that stupid ice map though, I really don't care for that map.

I prioritize DD's as targets anytime that they are within 10km or so, because I hate torpedoes and if you let one of them get to point blank by tunnel-visioning on something else, they will straight up murder you and there's nothing that can be done about it when they drop a spread too close to dodge in any way.

It's also pretty funny when the chat explodes after you alpha a DD off the map in a single salvo (from a cruiser or BB).

Why are people so obsessed with the Admiral Graf Spee and the Prinz Eugen? Like, I can understand the Japanese ships and the Bismark, but I had never even heard of the other two until I started playing this game and they seem to pop up everywhere. Seems like the Spee spent most of its time shooting unarmed ships and running away before she got in a real fight and got scuttled, and the Eugen escorted the Bismark for a bit before becoming a support vessel.

It doesn't seem like either of them have illustrious histories or super-ships (Bismark and Yamato, while ineffective, are cool just for their firepower). Is it just people who are way into Nazi Germany or are they special to germans a la the Arizona?

The Spee was scuttled after innacurate reports of a fleet waiting to ambush it. If that alone does not make you want it, nothing will.

God I would pay good money for a picture of Hitlers face when he was told one of his ships was scuttled for absolutely no reason.

People adore them some Nazi German ships for no discernable reason. I think it might be because they get a wrong impression from all the mistakes the Brits made and how they portrayed the Kriegsmarine as actually competent to hide how terrible a job they did.

The Germans didn't have a lot of famous ships, and by virtue of the battle - the first naval battle of the war between the UK and Germany - all 4 ships involved have some measure of fame and/or notoriety, Admiral Graf Spee, Exeter, Ajax and Achilles. Famous ships are the ones that will be turned into the first round of money spinning premiums.

There's also a really cool movie about it from the 50s, which has the real Achilles in it playing herself :3:

The German ship that I would say I most look forward to is the Scharnhorst/Gneisenau, but it really depends on how they are put into the game. They were battlecruisers, but for some reason a lot of people now call them Battleships.

They had 9 x 11" guns that were quite accurate by all reports, and they would be terrifying cruisers, but as a battleship? Not so much. So I guess it would depend on where they got tiered, and as what.

Also, their secondaries - 12 x 5.9", 14 x 4.1" all in turret mounts + AA 16 x 37mm, 16 x 20mm, and 6 x 533mm torpedo tubes.

I'm not going to lie, the German line is probably going to be fun to play. Their ships are fast and mostly have oversized guns. Bismarck has an armor scheme designed to frustrate cruisers. It's like a line full of brawlers.

Personally, I'm just looking forward to the Deutschland-class (including Graf Spee) because they're a pretty interesting (if flawed) design that might allow for a somewhat unique playstyle. Same as for Scharnhorst/Gneisenau or the Alaska-class or, hell, the Bismarck. Smaller guns than other T8 BBs, but potentially high rate of fire and fast turret turn times on a fast plattform is potentially quite interesting.

Prinz Eugen, while not terribly interesting or auspicious in its career, was known as a lucky ship. So lucky, it survived the war to do a stint as the USS Prinz Eugen in the American Navy and survived two atomic blasts in the Bikini Atoll testing. It even had a combined German and American crew for it's voyage to Boston from Europe.

Alaska and Scharnhorst I could see as BBs, but the Deutschlands would be hell to try and balance that way. Tier her too low and she'd break the game at low tiers hard by mulching cruisers and outranging low-tier BBs. Tier her higher than that and she'd become fodder for other BBs and struggle even against cruisers. Implementing her as high-ish tier cruiser that's built around (for the class) extraordinary powerful, but slow-firing primaries would work better imo.
