Still, for the kind of weight loss a guy with presidential ambitions should be shooting for, 85 pounds over two years isn't terribly impressive. Penn Jillette lost more than that in three months on a program without even any surgery. That was an extreme program under strict medical supervision, sure, but Christie has had at least equal resources with over 8x the amount of time Penn had. Perhaps he's just relying on the lap band to tame things, without actually changing his eating habits much?
