Galaga Galaxian posted:Hey, does anyone who backed the Mekton Zero KS have any idea how that project is proceeding? I didn't back, due to frustration with R.Tal in the past and MZ being on the crunchier side of my tastes these days. It looks like it is a good thing too, wasn't Mekton Zero due out last year? I backed it and still nothing came out.

Gotta say, that Counterblast KS sure is skirting some lines with those models. One guy appears to be carrying the alloy cannon from XCOM and those robits have dudes who look just like the minions from Despicable Me.

Anyone back the Earthdawn kickstarter because the player's guide just dropped on Drivethru RPG? How is it? http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/149303/Earthdawn-Fourth-Edition-Players-Guide They were only 9 months late, which isn't bad in kickstarter time, and the backer copy is actually much cheaper than the finished product.

Haha, the Click Clack Lumberjack campaign's update released a picture of where their backers are coming from. In the screenshot is forums.somethingawful with 20 pledges. Reddit only got them 16. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/maydaygames/click-clack-lumberjack-20-dexterity-game-2-7-playe/posts/1229704?ref=backer_project_update It's up to $27k, and unlocking stuff, but each item it unlocks is another $1 charge if you want it, which is kind of crappy. Even a pack of 7 cards is $1.

Well this got posted. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/montecookgames/no-thank-you-evil-a-game-of-make-believe-for-famil Pros: the art is awesome and I love the concept and ideas behind it. Cons: I don't hate the Cypher (Numenara) system, but it's not the best.

That art is nice and I'm all in favor of RPGs aimed at younger players but I admit I have no real inclination to support Monte Cook. Also those testimonial quotes are hilarious. "This is fantastic! - A Parent" Wow! If A Parent recommends it it must be good!

I like the kid quotes though... "I really like that you don't have to have a robot who is super smart and has programming. You can have one that is like a kid and has a fiery dragon."

Good on them making games for younger players, but I got enough family friendly RPGs and really don't have a burning desire to throw money at Cook.

I mean at least it can't be as bad as Witch Girl Adventures so there's that. Now if Cook can just keep himself from writing anything about Native Americans he'll be set.

How has this new Coup Kickstarter made nearly $100k in pledges? Why is there a new Coup Kickstarter when the last one (One Night Resistance, which is the same thing, really) only finished 14 days ago? People are retarded.

Because IB&G, despite being run by a dick, at least does deliver on the product. Maybe not the product you expected, ie stuff that actually color matched previous stuff, but you get something in the mail! That is also the only way to get Coup 54 in an easy way. Not even "just in the states," but just in general. Hopefully, like the original Coup, other international publishers get their hands at making sweet art for the 54 version.

Speaking of nice books, my copy of Unwritten (FATE-powered Myst RPG) showed up today. Still a bit bummed that they couldn't incorporate D'ni numeral page numbers, but overall it's a drat fine product. And of course there's a Linking panel on the inside front page.

Millennium Blades is in its final day and half, with plenty of stretch goals unlocked (to be fair 8 are social). There's a couple known SGs left to unlock - a 3rd co-op scenario and better money tokens (wads of cash instead of single bills). The way things are going I'm sure those will be reached. Brad has hinted at another final super special stretch goal, but there's no info on what it'll be yet. Should be good! Oh, and most of the SGs after the 150k point are extras for the expansion.

I really want Millenium Blades but I: 1) Probably won't have anyone to play with 2) Probably don't want to pay shipping to Japan I had Shadows of Brimstone come in back in October/November, but am really only getting a chance to sit down and play it this weekend when I have friends coming in. I played a few test games to teach myself the rules, and it least its playable solo, but still- its taken over half a year for me to assemble everything and have other players. My willpower may break in the next 32 hours though. I'd also love to throw in extra for a copy of BattleCon too.

An art/setting book is pretty super, but I'm more excited to see more cards, decks, co-op battles and the mini-game. The more pledges are made, the more people end up with a picture of me andthe more mine is worth.

The "Campaign Guide" part of the book is not a setting almanac, according to the description it's a guide to playing the game in "campaign mode" carrying things forward Legacy-style from co-op game to co-op game. I'd say that's a pretty big deal for me.
