I feel like I'm the outlier here for not getting into any fantasy novels beyond Lord of the Rings and the other peripheral Tolkien stuff. I read lots of Squadron/Signal aircraft histories and car magazine articles instead. Not sure if that makes me worse.

The Warszawa posted:i never played d&d proper, which i kind of regret i think it would have been fun when i was a teenager or younger its even more fun now if you play with the right group it can be a bonding and collective creative exercise, most teen groups it's just fantasy fulfillment last time i played d&d (pathfinder) i played as an objectivist ur-capitalist priest who refused to heal anyone without cash up front, it was fun as hell by the end of our campaign i was rolling around with multiple followers just to carry all my gold chains and chests of fancy clothing, and would gently caress with the rest of the party by refusing to go dungeon crawling when we could hire armies of stooges to do that for us while i franchised temples to my god
