Looks like someone got the hint about the funky Supergirl trailer and made a much better one, without the pop songs. Really wish they had released this before the one yesterday.
And this looks incredible.

The different music helps a lot, but all the cringey #supergirl stuff from the first trailer is going to be somewhere in the show still, anyway... :negative:

You can see why they tried to hide the fight in the original trailer though as the CG is awful. Hopefully they have a lot more work to do on that before it hits TV screens.

I'm not sure why they would go to the bother of hiring Robbie Amell in the first place if they were just going to replace him right away.

He was only a guest star this season so it's possible that he got cast in some other show or movie that conflicts with the shooting.

Supergirl and Gotham are airing in the same time slot. That seems like kind of a stupid scheduling choice on CBS's part. I can't imagine WB is pleased with that scheduling.

Yeah, Supergirl v Gotham. Though I haven't watched an episode of Gotham and I'm planning on watching Supergirl. CBS has at least won me over. For now.

I'm on board for Supergirl for at least the first few episodes just because the lead seems very charismatic. Never seen her in anything before.

The networks are pretty good at ramping up production for new shows these days. It feels like if the cards are right they can crank out a full 10-13 episodes of a new show from casting to pre-production to shooting in like six months, with it premiering a few months later.

Yeeeaaaah I just don't know. I loved Preacher but it is so out of the 90's, I have no idea how well it will play if they try to update the story.

Yeah, that truck splitting apart was pretty :catstare:. The show certainly has potential, there's good and bad in there, but I'm not banking on it. There was a time when I'd be pretty much happy just to have a live action comic show of any type, especially if it openly embraced the comic-book superhero aspects, but at this point that's gone from a welcomed surprise to the bare minimum expectation.

I'm kinda hype as gently caress for Legends, guys. I'm also glad they also obviously agree with me that Wentworth Miller loving owns as Captain Cold. Kinda sucks Katana probably won't be sticking around, I was hoping she'd be in it but otherwise it looks great.

Don't get me wrong, there's definitely a place in my heart for camp. Miller, Bannerman, even Lachlan on Agents of SHIELD are all fantastic scenery chewing monsters and it's awesome. Usually the Arrowverse hits their camp pretty well. I think the only problem comes when they get the tone uneven and try to do camp and serious too close together; the tonal whiplash makes it hard to respect either, and they both end up looking ridiculous, in a bad way.

Firestorm has one of the best costumes going in comicbooks so it kind of sucks how lovely he looks in the show. I wish they would play around and give him a real costume instead of the torso thing he is wearing right now, but I doubt they will which is a shame.

I think the thing that bugs me is when the characters don't take poo poo seriously. Like I know it's easy to beat up that loving Agents of SHIELD pilot but the dialogue was just like this constant grating "lol this is silly isn't it" commentary and it's like yeah, I know it's silly, stop winking at me please. What makes the CW shows work is that basically no matter how goofy it gets the characters are going to treat it with deadly seriousness. It would lose its charm if someone was making a running commentary like "wow, who keeps making all these doomsday machines?? Can you get this stuff on e-bay?"

I can't stand Preacher myself, but the cast is outstanding, and I'm sure they'll tone down the Ennis a lot for TV. I expect it to be pretty good.

Miller's :smug: "WHO DOESN'T LIKE A THANK YOU?" in this week's Flash was glorious. And the girl playing Golden Glider is pretty good too. A little sad she's not coming along for Rip Hunter's Wild Ride.

I saw the most recent Flash episode and I see why they always have Cavanagh take the cowl off when Reverse-Flash isn't doing the blurry vibration thing; doesn't look as good with it up, unless he's doing the glowy eyes at the same time.

Hahaha, I felt the same way.

Also, the Legends trailer owned. The recut Supergirl trailer was also a LOT better, and made it look much more in line with the other CW shows.

I want to like the Legends of Tomorrow trailer but the dialogue seems like it's the same level of stilted and unnatural that made Flash such hard viewing for me. I dunno, it's just... I can suspend my disbelief that they have superpowers, but not that anyone actually talks like that. And I have pretty high tolerance, I'd think, given the rest of the nerd genre shows I love.

Rory looks great, though. But never gonna not call him Rory.

It's probably going to be about as accurate as Constantine (which totally did have stuff from the comics in it) if not even less, so anyone expecting something more than that will probably end up like the butthurt Hellblazer fanboys, whining on the internet about how the show "ruined" Constantine.

See, Gustin can pull it off, so I recognise it's because Cavanagh is older and a bit gaunter. Like, there's a picture online, if you do a GIS, of Cavanagh in the suit with the glowing red eye effects added, and it looks fine. If they'd kept those in, I reckon it would have looked okay.

You're right, the read eyes really do bring it together. It's his eyes. Somehow they just seem weird behind the mask. Maybe its because we spent so long looking at him without the mask that it seemed weird to see him with it on.
