Dick Trauma posted:As terrible as those TV shows must be I'm kind of freaked out to see yet another comic from my childhood get translated to live action. Only took 50 years! There actually has already been a live version show of The Flash, from 1990, it bombed horribly, mainly due to it's horrible time slot, and then constantly getting reshuffled to other time slots that no one cared about. Also it was cheesy as hell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ea9sq9jH60M I still watched it anyways.

90s Flash is hilarious. The episode with the evil hippies is amazingly bad.

The funny thing about this new Flash show is that they're basically pretending that the 90's show happened, with the exception of the Flash showing up. The biggest example is the 90's show had two episodes with Mark Hamill as the Trickster and the new show had it so that he was caught by regular cops in 1990 and he's been in prison ever since. They even used footage from that show as part of the Trickster's file when the Flash was reading up on him.

I don't think its exactly the same since her Canary outfit had her boobs hanging out all the time.

Oh, I know about that show. I meant a live-action version of Captain Cold and Heatwave taking on the Flash, like in that comic I posted. Unless I misunderstood what was posted and they're in a different series. Man I must've read that comic 100 times when I was little.

I hate everything they're doing with the Terminator franchise. If you're going to go cheap and silly, at least go all the way. Make it be 3 timelines intersecting. Back to the Future II meets that horrifying scene in Looper. Have a Terminator go back to dinosaur times to crush the first mammal just to say "gently caress it", insert scenes from Terminator 2 and have old Schwartzeneggar running around in the background looking for the neural net processor like it was an almanac. Timecrimes that poo poo where Arnold realizes he made a mistake at the beginning of the movie and has to loop back around and stop himself from making that mistake. Either that or just make a horror movie again, do a semi-remake of the first where a terminator travels back and just tries to kill Sarah's mom instead. Just don't give me this weak poo poo. e: At least Terminator Salvation had a weight to it, and had good production values. feedmyleg fucked around with this message at 20:01 on May 14, 2015 |

To me, Terminator 3 and Jurassic Park 3 are essentially the same boring movie. Terminator Salvation is probably what would have happened had the dino-human hybrid Jurassic Park 4 gone forward and had the craziness watered down before production. Jurassic World and Terminator Genesys look like they have similar problems - though World still looks like it could pull through and be fun.

Terminator 3 is a precursor to Universal Soldier Regeneration so it gets a pass.

Yeah, the problem with both is that they're reaaaally reaching for reasons to even exist. What is there gonna be in Gynesis (i seriously cannot ever remember what their stupid spelling of that word is) that hasn't already been done in previous films (and probably better to boot)? I'm all for sequels and remakes if they bring something new to the table, but at least Terminator looks like it's just rehashing poo poo. Even the new wrinkles like John Connor being a Terminator already feel stale. e: Jurassic World has Chris Pratt's Raptor Posse though, so I'm still interested there.

I liked Cracked's take on the Jurassic World trailer, with the theory that it was intended to be a comedy that went horribly wrong somewhere along the line. All the big actors and behind-the-scenes talent attached to the movie are known for comedies, the way some of the shots form the trailer are done are far more in line with a comedy than a serious movie, the concept is just ridiculous enough to work as one, and even the slightly shonky special effects would work perfectly as a satire of shonky special effects. Everything about the movie would add up to a fantastic parody of exactly the sort of movie it actually is.
