That's a fantastic squad, I want Colombia or Chile to win the cup but Argentina are definitely the favorites.

Lots of old dudes who wont be playing the next world cup. Martino needs to start calling the next generation of players like Dybala and Iturbe.

Im surprised Zapata got called up to the Colombia squad, he hasn't played in months and is 4 or 5th choice behind some of the worlds worst defenders. That Argentina squad though, phwoar.

No matter how hard Rogerio Ceni tried to drag a dire Sao Paulo to the next round, he wasn't able to offset the rest of the team's awfulness. Cruzeiro are through and will play Boca or River.

Inter-Atlético was a great match and a terrible result because gently caress Inter and the marketing machine that is D'Alessandro. But it was a great match. How long until some random Spanish club snags Valdívia?

And not to sound too bitter, but the ref completely hosed atletico over (if it was a foul on that atletico goal that was called back, then it was a penalty on Jo). Not to mention the ball boys loving with Atletico at every opportunity (to the point they got a red card, which made things worse), but that is par for the course in libertadores.

Holy poo poo, the second half hasn't started yet because apparently Boca supporters threw pepper spray at the River players, can't see this game not being suspended now.

The B drone was great, the gas assault not so much. I've always liked Boca but after this disgraceful bullshit I would love it if River continued the game and won like 5-0. The game will surely not continue but I think the problem is that officially stopping the mess has the potential to cause a bad mess during the stadium exit.

Squad doesn't mean poo poo Argentina always sucks. Zuniga was one of the best players in his position in the world for a while and really important as a leader of Colombia's team. Pekerman calls players based on leadership and team chemistry, not performance. His callup makes sense. I'd be more surprised at Armero. But the situation are similar. At there best the two were one of the best wingback duos in the world. Game will be suspended. River will get a 3-0 win. Boca will get banned from playing at their stadium for a good amount of time. At least that's what would happen in a just world.

The investigation around this will be really interesting, surely they couldn't have cut the water/power on the visitors dressing rooms (the water thing did happen) or have the cops mysteriously disappear while they threw loving pepper spray at the players without inside help.

Arruabarrena complained about the suspension, the Boca players refused to leave the pitch or show any solidarity. Both teams are still on the pitch for no reason, or maybe making a macho statement about not being the first one to go or something dumb like that.
