I happened to get this picture a few days before he passed away. He was my friend's dog, and a good boy, no matter how many times his tail rearranged a Magic: the Gathering game mid-duel. RIP Lupe

Yea, the general rule of dealing with a pissed off wombat is "Get the gently caress outta the way or you will regret it". I love the little grey one's look when he starts getting a belly rub. The way they're stopping on a dime is actually practice for when they're adults too. Imagine a dingo chasing one and then suddenly crashing headfirst at full speed into a solid wombat butt.

Wombats are also known for using their square poops as caltrops when fleeing predators. David Attenborough himself once reflected that wombat turds are like "nature's Lego." citation needed

But after about hour 5 you'd be starting to get tired of him shrieking into a lid. Now multiply that by several hundred and you understand what I deal with several times a year when flocks of the mad bastards come past.

I had a roommate for a while that had a cockatiel and a love bird and even though they are much smaller than a cockatoo they could be so loud. And during Animal Play Hour (when she'd let them, plus the chinchilla out to run around and get some supervised cage-free fun) the two birds absolutely loved to sneak around behind the couch, get onto the back and very very stealthily sidle along the back to simultaneously yell in the ear of whatever unsuspecting chump happened to be sitting there. It was funny and cute and annoying as hell all rolled into one.
