I happened to get this picture a few days before he passed away. He was my friend's dog, and a good boy, no matter how many times his tail rearranged a Magic: the Gathering game mid-duel.

I love when he's told he needs to go in the carrier, and his crest just falls. This bird is literally crestfallen at going to the vet.

Its cute when they're little, but they'll bring you down at adult size. And them you're in range of digging claws and teeth.

Yea, the general rule of dealing with a pissed off wombat is "Get the gently caress outta the way or you will regret it".

The way they're stopping on a dime is actually practice for when they're adults too. Imagine a dingo chasing one and then suddenly crashing headfirst at full speed into a solid wombat butt.

Wombats are also known for using their square poops as caltrops when fleeing predators. David Attenborough himself once reflected that wombat turds are like "nature's Lego." citation needed

Same, it's loving hysterical. I think the thing that really makes it even funnier is how the bird isn't making any sort of varied, "speaky" noises but is just going AAAAAAAAAA into the cup.

FAKE EDIT because I had the page open unrefreshed for so long:

That's the thing about cockies, they're filled to the brim with mischief and love nothing more in life than making a huge noise and even bigger mess. But after about hour 5 you'd be starting to get tired of him shrieking into a lid.

Oh, I understand perfectly. Luckily my only exposure to cockatoos is funny Youtube videos. And as hilarious as I find some of them, I'm also convinced that all cockatoo owners are some sort of zen masters, because holy poo poo all that noise would drive me up the wall within a week. The noisiest birds around here are probably seagulls or jackdaws, so...

I had a roommate for a while that had a cockatiel and a love bird and even though they are much smaller than a cockatoo they could be so loud.

And during Animal Play Hour (when she'd let them, plus the chinchilla out to run around and get some supervised cage-free fun) the two birds absolutely loved to sneak around behind the couch, get onto the back and very very stealthily sidle along the back to simultaneously yell in the ear of whatever unsuspecting chump happened to be sitting there.

It was funny and cute and annoying as hell all rolled into one.
