No idea what Extreme0 is on about- I've never seen a chippy (East or West) offering a "chip supper," and never heard anyone ask for one. As for the number of fanatic tribalists, while their importance is probably minimal, their number is shockingly high among my friends, Facebook acquaintances and work colleagues (and this is something I've heard lots of people say). Often smart and well-informed people who yet repeatedly and uncritically valorise the SNP, extolling them as "the true party of [whatever I like]" while relentlessly and aggressively framing everything as "us v them," always failing to acknowledge the glaring policy and intellectual similarities between the SNP and unionist parties, especially Labour (because Labour are bad and evil in all things, so cannot be like the SNP. Because that's how politics works, apparently).

Good chips are not that easy to find. Thain's bakery always disappoints me, I'll go in for a stovie after the pub and the chips look really appetising but when I get home I remember that Thain's chips are dull mushy cardboard. The Ashvale is famously good, apparently, but too far away from the centre to merit drunk walking for food. Same goes for the only place in town that does a dürüm kebab and not some weird thing where they just pile a bunch of meat shavings on top of naan bread or whatever.
