Also Lena Dunham is there as a mob boss or some poo poo.

Ah this makes sense. I didn't think of the middle as training exercises, I thought she was battling a bunch of random people. Now I get it.

The thing about Joseph kahn is that his style is too specific and since he's been doing the same thing since toxic, this video seems really dated to me, despite the "high tech" Look.

I thought it was a tongue-in-cheek parody of that stereotypical kind of marriage where the woman is just extremely bossy. I don't really have anything against her, some of her songs are pretty catchy and I like the rhythm :v:. But just like Clean Bandit, the other half of the album is pretty eh (Credit, holy poo poo, is such a bad song, I thought it was a really, really old song of hers but nope).

I don't think there's any satire meant by the song and video. It seems to me that she's being 100% serious.

What is so ungodly offensive about that song? It's pop schlock and brings absolutely nothing new to the table nor discussion.

"'Cause if you'll treat me right
I'll be the perfect wife
Buying groceries
Buy-buying what you need"

"Dear future husband,
If you wanna get that special lovin'
Tell me I'm beautiful each and every night"

"After every fight
Just apologize
And maybe then I'll let you try and rock my body right
Even if I was wrong
[Grin] You know I'm never wrong
Why disagree?
Why, why disagree?"

"And know we'll never see your family more than mine"

"I'll be sleeping on the left side of the bed (hey)
Open doors for me and you might get some-- kisses
Don't have a dirty mind
Just be a classy guy
Buy me a ring
Buy-buy me a ring, (babe)"

I mean, it's not like, horribly offensive or anything, but I feel like anyone who thinks women should think like this is pretty backwards. It's a bunch of lame "wife" stereotypes from 40 years ago.

I haven't actually HEARD that song, but those lyrics do read like satire to me.

"And know we'll never see your family more than mine"

Come on, that's obviously tongue-in-cheek. I gotta agree with Azran on this.

EDIT: On a completely different note, Brandon Flowers has released a lyric video for I Can Change, which is not only fun to watch but even features a Neil Tennant cameo:

“Just surprised the random places people are asking me if I was being sexist,” Meghan told MTV News. “But no, I don’t believe I was. Yeah. If that song was taken in a vacuum, or released by someone like Garfunkel and Oates, I'd totally buy that it was satire, but coming from the woman whose first two songs included a song all about the world's oldest lawyer joke and a goofy song about accepting everyone's weight that was definitely played straight. I picked out the lyrics that were most obvious, but it's all written in the same voice as All About That Bass.

That being said, if it came out that her entire album was satire, including All About That Bass, I would laugh hysterically.
