Shane was a very cool character up t'il the point he laid his hands on Lauri (Thank god she is dead). He was a great father figure to Carl, a good friend to Rick (before he tried to kill him) and was a much better leader than Rick. This whole thing Rick had about completely respecting other people's crazy wishes was just loving dumb and Shane knew it.

I always found Lauri to be the worst character of all of them. My personal tipping point (The moment I said to myself gently caress it, she can't be redeemed) was when she got mad at Rick for defending himself and killing Shane, when one episode earlier she had told him he needed to kill Shane. Make up your drat mind woman!
gently caress Lori. In I think the second episode where we meet Daryl for the first time and he pitches a fit and tells Rick "At least tell me where [Merle] is so I can get him." Lori says, "He'll show you" and then acts all hurt and offended when Rick goes back to the city. What the gently caress lady.

If they have done one thing right in this show, it was getting rid of the terrible key female characters and replacing them with good ones for the most part. For a while it's pretty much Lori and Andrea and you spend the first couple of seasons just wishing a zombie would take them out.

Shane did start out ok, but his whole character just devolves into the lamest drama so quickly it's not even worth considering he's all right in the first season.

Wasn't that pretty much Lori's thing the entire time she was on the show, though?

That sounds about right. Lori was possibly one of the worst characters in the history of television. She could never make her mind about anything, was completely unable to face reality and held the most stupid grudges. A good example was her being pissed off at Shane for having left Rick behind. What the gently caress was the guy supposed to do? Sneak a gurney past a bunch of zealous soldiers willing to shoot hospital staff and then play zig zag with zombies all the way back to her house? Her death was the most beautiful thing that could happen to this show.

Oh, yeah. I think the writers killed her because even they thought she was beyond repair by then. And they'd been right.

Except that her actual death was confusing and stupid. A zombie ate all of her, including her bones and shoes, in like, ten minutes, just for a half second where you thought she had become a zombie.

Haha! Yeah, that was completely stupid, though sadly it was far from the most inconsistent thing they've tried to pull on this show.
As far as Lori's death goes, I was more confused when she went into labor and was like, "Ungh! Something's not right! You have to cut me open. NOW! Bye, Son!" I dunno, I thought it was a rash decision. The last time she was pregnant was with Carl like 10 years ago, how did she become the expert in apocalabor and delivery?

You don't have to be an OB/GYN to know that a malnourished, incredibly stressed, 40 year old woman who'd already had one cesarean, giving birth in a disgusting prison basement without any medical supplies at all would be a "high risk" delivery. She probably knew that unless the baby came out perfectly and very quickly, her choices were have the baby cut out and she dies, or they both die.

Good point. I guess I forgot she had Carl via cesarean too, which would make a difference even in a normal birth setting. The whole situation just seemed oddly sudden.

But, she's dead now, and that's the most important part.

quote:

In an interview with TMZ, Coleman explained what happened. As someone who spent time in Baltimore during the filming of The Wire, Coleman said, he had “built up frustration” because of the Freddie Gray case in that city. But what set him off was the fact that someone on the train used the n-word to refer to him. A passenger recognized Coleman, but the passenger’s friend stated, “No, we don’t know that n--ga.”

As Coleman walked and up down the train, he asked where were his humanitarians and also spouted a few curse words. Coleman told TMZ that he was not intoxicated, but he did lose control of his emotions and regrets it. He also said that he wanted to apologize to his Walking Dead co-stars and his family.

God why couldn't we have had that Tyreese? Given half his rant (in particular the end) keeps screaming about how non-violent he is, it would have both worked and have been kind of awesome because he'd actually been kind of scary as hell.

I can't feel bad that the video went viral, though, given he literally exclaimed people should do record him. Either that or it was total performance art to troll TMZ, given he literally brings them up a minute in.
