The 360 is a piece of poo poo that looks pretty great. The other Android Wear watches look like poo poo for the most part but run better. 360's marketing has been much better too so they have some rabid fanboys. Thermopyle posted:It lasts all day with always on screen, and the flat tire thing is just a subjective issue. The 360 does not have an always on option - the battery can't take it. It has a super dim "ambient mode." Other watches actually stay on full brightness for two days without issues. That was my biggest problem with it. But why would you want always full brightness and not "Don't be bright when I'm not looking at it"?

Takoluka posted:But why would you want always full brightness and not "Don't be bright when I'm not looking at it"? For me personally, I don't make the required 45 degree wrist tilt naturally, so I need true always-on. The 360 gyroscope was very frustrating since I'd always be staring at a dark screen. I have to check my watch dozens of times at work too. I admit this may not be the experience of the majority. You can toggle it on watches with good hardware if it really bothers you. But no one ever notices the light unless its dark. This, so much. My 360 typically cruises through a day with easily 30% left. Today, I hit a 6% low battery warning at 2pm. No clue why.

Am I in the minority that I can get over 24 hours out of my 360? I pulled it off the charger yesterday at 430am and forgot to put it on the charger last night and at 1230pm it was still going at 5%.

Only thing I'm really interested in is the new navigation gestures unless there is something else really awesome I'm missing (no wifi for the Zenwatch).

For some reason as soon as a wristwatch becomes a smart-watch, I am no longer willing to pay $200 for it. Give me style choices immediately, android. Stop developing your technology in the first generation first! I'm hoping with v2 of the moto that we'll see some cheap used copies of the v1. Like people said, it will still be just as good as it is now. My one concern is that they might just stop pushing updates to it in like a year or 2 because they want people to go buy the newest version. I assume it's pretty much just wait-and-see on that type of behavior at this point, right? Call of Cholula posted:I've been hearing "is that an iPhone or a Galaxy?" for the past couple of years. Anecdotal experience is totally subjective, how weird! I always get "What phone is that?" if somebody wants to know what phone I am using, instead of these rude-rear end leading questions. Apparently I live around better people.

My gf got me an Urbane for my birthday. I haven't opened it yet as it's at home, but should I just send it back? I had been talking about the Hauwei Watch and how it looks and I guess she thought it was the same one or something.

I dunno, they both look pretty cool to me and I'd be less disappointed than if I'd asked for Transformers and got Go-Bots (which I've learned actually came first). On the other hand, the lady at the veterinarian's office yesterday asked if my Pebble was an Apple Watch. Before that, very few people who weren't Pebble owners themselves or otherwise familiar would comment on my watch. General awareness of the existence of smart watches has definitely risen due to Apple's entry into the market, for sure.

I would prefer that the recipient of a gift from me be completely happy and will gladly just give them a receipt so they can exchange it. I can get pretty specific with the model/brand of thing that I want, so I understand if they feel the same.

As the token goon Urbane owner I'm very happy with it and very skeptical of Huawei but that's probably my unfair racism more than anything.

I was in pretty much the same situation last year. I got a watch for my birthday from my parents when I already had my heart set on getting a Moto 360 when it was released. I just told them and it wasn't a big deal, why would it be?

Circle, 360 to be precise.

So I got the update on my l_g g watch. The new interface has some nice tweaks. The flick to scroll wasn't working so well, at first. It would seem to be 50/50 on it doing what I wanted. Actually moving my arm with the direction of the flick I'm trying to do seems to make it a lot more accurate. So to scroll up I flick away from my body and my my arm out a bit too.

It's not the best but it was the by far the best value for the money at $100, it is an absolute steal at $50 and the perfect way to dip your feet into Wear which is still a very much immature and evolving platform with major hardware updates in the next few months. Buy this if you are thinking about Wear.
